Convenient location but that’s about it
Pros:

It’s is very convenient

Cons:

There was so much humidity in the room that if you don’t run the AC on full blast the floor literally got wet. AC filter looked like it had never been changed. Food at the restaurant was horrible.

Keep your expectations low
Pros:

The hotel’s proximity to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center made attending our event very convenient. The lobby coffee shop was also a helpful amenity. The frontline working staff were wonderful, friendly, and very helpful to our needs throughout our stay but the management left far to be desired. My expectations were much higher than their expectations for the cost of this hotel and convention space. The public restrooms in the convention area were kept clean. All that I can offer is that the iron and hair dryer provided in the room were nice and the elevators were quick.

There was black mold visibly growing where the walls met the baseboards in the Hubble Room. Worse, the ceiling and sprinkler system were actively dripping water onto the carpet, creating a large, moldy, wet puddle inside the room. The convention rooms were never vacuumed once during our entire 5-day event, leading to bugs accumulating in the corners of the meeting spaces. Banquet room floors were also skipped between dining services. Conference food was served cold, and the kitchen ran out of items quickly during dinner. Table linens were never changed across 5 separate meals—staff simply brushed them off between uses. The linens smelled musty, as if they had been folded and stored while damp.

Our room was spacious, but extremely humid and musty due to the lack of a bathroom exhaust fan. The humidity was so heavy that our bed sheets and towels felt damp every evening; I actually had to bring in bedding from my car just to sleep comfortably. Both nightstands were broken with dusty, exposed wiring visible. The shower control handle was completely separated from the wall. Upon moving a table, we found clumps of hair and hair ties from previous guests, along with a few cockroaches under the bed.

The pool gate was broken—a major safety hazard. The pool water was dark green and so cloudy you couldn't see the bottom, with visible rings of algae growing on the walls and floor. No pool maintenance staff were ever seen. Outdoor patio cushions were severely faded, molded, soaked through with water for several days, missing padding, or missing entirely from chairs. The gym was spacious and there was a nice variety of equipment, but smelled musty and I noticed the same sweat marks on the equipment 2 days in a row. I used the laundry facility once during our stay and it was $7 to do one load of laundry. The 5th-floor ice maker was broken and leaking into a 1" deep puddle. Management simply placed a loud commercial fan over the standing water 24/7 rather than fixing the leak. The entire hallway smelled of mold and stale cigarette smoke. Trash bags and dirty dinnerware sat in guest hallways for 2 full days before being collected. The elevators constantly had little piles of trash and dead bugs in the corners - especially over the weekend. Outside, the parking lot was littered with trash (which I ended up picking up myself), sidewalks were full of weeds, and poison sumac and Virginia creeper were growing unmanaged throughout the landscaping.

While the working staff did their best, management and the front desk were unhelpful. When issues were brought to their attention, they offered empty promises and said what they thought we wanted to hear, but never followed through with solutions. While the location is ideal for an event, the combination of active water leaks, visible black mold, unmaintained pool facilities, pest issues, and lack of basic housekeeping make this hotel unsafe and uncomfortable. I would not stay here again for a convention.

Safety and cleanliness concerns made us leave early
Pros:

My husband, our 10-month-old, and I stayed at the Marriott in Huntsville, Alabama near the Space Center while my husband was attending a work conference. We had originally booked Saturday through Friday, but after several issues with the room and property, we checked out Monday morning and moved to another hotel for the rest of our stay.

Check-in was easy and the front desk staff were friendly, which made a good first impression. Unfortunately, our experience went downhill quickly once we got to room 412. Water was coming up from the floor between the panels, and the air conditioning would not cool the room down no matter how low we set it. We called the front desk and engineering came up, telling us it was an AC drain line issue that just needed to be reconnected. Even after that, the problem was never fixed, and five hours later water was still coming up through the floor. During that time, we also found a loose panel under one of the nightstands with exposed electrical wires, which was especially concerning with a crawling 10-month-old in the room.

When we went back to the front desk and explained everything, the staff handled it well and moved us to another room, also giving us breakfast coupons. We appreciated that response. However, room 410 had problems too. It no longer had water coming up from the floor, but it still had exposed electrical wires. We were told that was “just the way it is,” though they could cover it with duct tape. The pack-and-play provided was broken, the shower had black mold around the caulking, and the floor was dirty enough that the bottoms of my socks turned black. After showering and walking across the room, my feet were dirty again, which made it obvious the room had not been cleaned well.

Breakfast was also disappointing. Since it was free for us, we gave it a try, but the buffet was very underwhelming. The pastry and bread table was completely empty, the bacon and sausage ran out and were never refilled, and the bacon had an off taste that even our bacon-loving son would not eat. The deli meat looked uncomfortably warm, and the hard-boiled eggs were so overcooked they were rubbery. I was honestly shocked to hear the buffet costs $19 per person.

The pool was another major concern. It was green when we arrived and even greener/browner when we left, and you could not see the bottom. The gate around the pool was unstable; the entire gate could be rocked back and forth with ease, which made it feel unsafe. The railing into the pool did not feel secure either. We let the front desk know, and they said they had already received complaints and would send engineering to take a look.

Overall, we really wanted to enjoy our stay, but the condition of the rooms, breakfast, and pool made that impossible. We ended up checking out early and staying elsewhere for the rest of our trip.

Pros:

I like the balcony in my room and the view of the space rocket.

Cons:

The bed was so uncomfortable. The bedroom just has too much empty space. Didn't like how the AC system worked. You couldn't truly control the temp in the room. It was to warm for me.

Great location for me and hotel is very clean and easy access to parking.
Pros:

The location was only 7 miles away from my tennis tournament! Very clean. Fast elevators. Had a meal from the bar that was very good, just had to wait longer than we thought. Lobby restrooms were very nice.

Cons:

The room is very sterile and cold feeling. Lacking warmth and decor. 2 simple chairs, bed, TV. I felt like this hotel is mainly used to service people taking classes or they work at the space museum. Very business oriented.

If you’re booking in or after May 2026, ignore the bad reviews!!
Pros:

I was nervous about arriving because there are so many bad reviews, but we have just arrived and it’s been AMAZING from the moment we walked in the door. The staff is so friendly!! Timothy at the front desk was so warm and personable and helped me with a special request. Kelsey at the Barrel Room was friendly and cheerful! The hotel, including our room, is clean and accommodates all our needs!! Excited to see what the rest of the week holds!!!
