The location
The rooms are in need of updating. I was assigned a room next to the elevator and got very little sleep due to the constant noise from people using the elevator and talking throughout the night. Additionally, I was charged for parking for both rooms even though I only had one vehicle.
The bathroom was large and the staff checking us in and in valet were very kind.
The phone didn’t work in our room, our tv was glitching and there was no coffee in the lobby for the morning.
La amplitud de las habitaciones.
El colchón demasiado blando
No warning about the Pittsburgh Marathon shutting down all downtown roads - even through we had a noon flight. Management's solution? Leave before 6 AM! We ended up checking out and only staying one night, checked out before 11 AM with no refund and had to pay for another hotel outside of downtown so we would make our flight the next day.
Room wasn’t clean (hair in the shower, used cup left behind). Valet is a mess-tight garage, backed-up on the street, and a 30-minutes wait for our car. Check-in parking is basically nonexistent. All of this I was willing to overlook if not for the other issue.
Management was completely unhelpful. I would never stay here again - even if it were free.
Room was very clean, location was great, staff were very friendly and helpful.
The sink in the bathroom was square and flat so the water would just sit there and not drain
The pool and gym, even though the gym could have more machines.
The sliding doors to the closet in my room kept coming off the track. The phone in the room was not hooked up and needed to be relocated so that it could be plugged in behind the headboard of the bed. No sauna or jacuzzi. No mini fridge in my room.
The location
The water in the bathroom was a bit challenging to figure out
rooms were very clean and nice
no hot tub
Close to PPG
Loud doors slamming the entire time. Front desk lady was rude, forced valet parking without being told. They hold 150 when you arrive and you are NEVER told that, then they say you get it back but it just pays for parking . They lost my vehicle in valet , takes 40 to wait on vehicle. The room was very old and outdated, tv provider looked like it was from 1945 . All around a joke I’ve stayed in so much better in Pittsburgh. I come every year. I will never return here . Back to Marriott I go
Fantastic location, friendly staff, a convenience store attached for anything you wanted that wasn’t available in the snack bar. I also loved the parking garage under the hotel and was confident my vehicle was safe during our stay.
The property was under construction and understandably a bit drafty in the hallway to the pool, but they did have space heaters running to try to combat that.
We have stayed here many times and everyone, from Alley at the front desk, to DeVon, Curtis, the restaurant waitress etc, is super pleasant, friendly, helpful and welcoming. The hotel is clean and quiet. Love feeling like it’s home away from home when we visit out son.
