Both the breakfast and location were excellent. The hotel is near railway and underground stations, a few minutes walk from The British Museum.
The only problem was the temperature - the room didn't have air-conditioning and, as we were visiting during a heat wave, we found it too hot to sleep. The windows didn't open very far, but the staff were very helpful and managed to supply an additional fan. This is why we've given a low score for comfort.
Location was good
The man on the desk his name was ‘Minaraul’ was extremely rude when I walked in.
I had made the booking online and he had an attitude the minute I walked in. I showed him my booking and he made me feel like I was a burden to the hotel even though I showed him evidence of my payment with booking .com. He tried to tell me there were no rooms . I was a woman in my own at 1am in the morning . I said how can there be no rooms when I have booked one . After a lot of attitude from him he eventually showed me a room and then said I couldn’t have it because it had damp and that I would need to go to a sister hotel .
At this point I was so exhausted and didn’t want to go back outside that late on my own I had to practically beg him to let me have it .
He said he didn’t want to give it to me because I would leave a bad review .
How ever the review is against him and his disgusting behaviour towards me as a woman on her own late at night ! He had no compassion and showed not one bit of kindness or welcoming . If it wasn’t soo late and I hadn’t already paid I would never have stayed here ! What a terrible way to treat any guest and especially a woman on her own ! You should NOT have people working in hospitality like this ! It was absolutely shocking behavior . I cannot believe I was treated this way!
Good variety of cold and hot food
Everything was great
the location is good.
and you get a voucher if you don't need cleaning that day.
- bed was 140cm large. For 2 people. This is not comfortable
- the entire hotel has only 5 rooms with airco. (seriously? anno 2026?) And the ventilator made so much noise.
- tables at breakfast were not prepared. You need to take napkin and cutlery yourself.
- limited choice for breakfast. (some things were tasty)
- I asked for some ice. Sorry sir, we don't have that. Really?
- 1 elevator, very small and very often occupied by the personnel. Understandable, but still annoying and makes you wait longer.
The location was perfect for distance from the train station and for our evening activities and also to what we were doing during the day.
The room was very clean and adequate for our needs.
Breakfast was excellent and we were greeted by a very friendly breakfast steward who was jolly , friendly and very welcoming.
Imram? was particularly helpful at the reception desk and worked hard to facilitate our needs.
A huge thank you to the hotel for allowing us to store our cases before leaving London.
Buena ubicación. Buen desayuno. Todo muy bien.
Bra läge. Hjälpte till direkt vid problem
Lite trångt och lite gammalt badrum
The location was great with three tube stations close by, enabling you to get anywhere in London very easily. Covent Garden within twenty mins walk
Having to pay for air conditioning
Central location
No air conditioning and the small fan did not reach very far and there were no plug sockets next to the bed.
We spent 5 nights at this hotel. The location is perfect, in the center of London, close to everthing. And we got exactly what was advertised: a double room, no AC but we did get a fan, en-suite bathroom, and a fairly good breakfast (but, as usual, with no fresh vegetables).
However, the room was VERY small. The shower head was just an inch above my head, and I'm not particularly tall. It was HOT in London, and yes, I knew there was no AC, but the window would not open more than a crack, and when I asked, I was told that that was for safety reasons. The hallway outside my room, which had more windows open, was MUCH cooler that our room! They did give me a second fan, but that led to the next problem: since the building is old, the rooms have very few electric outlets, and they are almost all near the desk. So no outlets by the beds, and it was either the fan or the television, and the second fan had to be placed on the desk. In general, the hotel seems old, the carpets are worn, the lift is small and slow. So yes, they provided what they promised, but just that and no more. At 200 GBP a night, I would have expected a bit more.
And one more thing. In the room, they have the usual card asking guests to skip housekeeping "for the environment". In fact, they offer a 7 GBP voucher for each day that we do so. However, the vouchers can be used ONLY in the hotel's not very well stocked snack bar (or towards breakfast, if not paid for in advance), and ONLY exactly 7 GBP at once. In other words, if you buy something that costs 4, you lose the entire 7!
Location was ok for a visit
Bed was uncomfortable, room very small, bathroom very small.
The customer service was great. Breakfast was lovely too
Our room was small and with poor ventilation. There were also not enough sockets
