This is my 2nd time to stay at this hotel and would stay again. Lovely location and lovely staff
Pros:

Location was excellent, staff were very helpful and the food was great.

Cons:

1 of 3 lifts was out of action and the remaining 2 were a bit slow but not too bad either

A very enjoyable stay in an excellent location, with friendly staff, good facilities and a lovely Junior Suite—my prefer
Pros:

The location is excellent and one of the main reasons I stay here when visiting family in Bristol. It is very accessible, opposite the park and within easy walking distance of Castle Park, the city centre, shops, restaurants and the riverboats. The staff were consistently friendly and welcoming. I particularly loved my corner Junior Suite, room 1002, and the Executive Lounge is a really nice bonus. Breakfast was also very good and the gym was decent. Overall, the hotel is extremely well located and convenient.

Cons:

For the price, I expected a slightly higher and more consistent standard of housekeeping. During my Thursday-to-Sunday stay, the room was generally cleaned well, but on Saturday there were muddy/black shoe marks left on the bathroom floor after the shower had been cleaned, and the rubbish bin had not been emptied. I ended up cleaning the marks myself. This appeared to be an isolated issue, as housekeeping on the other days was good.

Pros:

Nice beds.

Cons:

Impossible shower. Extremely dirty windows that wouldn't open. Noisy aircon. The only rederming feature was the confortable beds.

Couldn't get hold of housekeeping when we needed more pillows, etc. They never answered the phone. The room service person spoke to us as if it were an effort to take our order. The food was mediocre.

Huge 20 minute queue for breakfast. Never seen anything like it in all our years and mainly staying at many other hotels including much cheaper ones. Lots of empty tables but not cleared and not enough staff. Complained at the breakfast pedestal and although the member of staff was pleasant she just brushed it off that the hotel was busy. Shampoo & conditioner containers left empty in our room for both nights of our stay. Luckily we brought our own. Room was either too hot or too cold due to awful heating/cooling system. Dirty towel left in the sink after the first mornings ‘turn over’ and finally got stuck in a toilet cubicle for ages just off the bar area as the framework around the door appeared to have warped. Reported it to reception but the glazed look and a lack of apology summed up the general attitude.
