This is a hotel I would strongly recommend avoiding. Despite paying over £300 per night and being a Marriott Platinum Elite member, my stay was plagued by a continuous lack of basic services and facilities. Most hotel services appear to be outsourced, and the result is an unacceptable level of service. Throughout my stay, room cleaning was inconsistent or absent, rubbish was not cleared, water was not replenished, laundry requests were ignored, and issues with air conditioning and drainage remained unresolved despite multiple complaints to reception staff and the housekeeping manager. Even simple requests, such as drinking water, often took more than two hours to be fulfilled. Repeated complaints resulted in little action and no meaningful resolution. The situation reached its worst when the hotel experienced a power and water outage for an entire day. Guests were given little to no information, there appeared to be no effective backup arrangements, and we were left climbing five flights of stairs repeatedly. There was no access to functioning washrooms, no drinking water from the taps, and no replenished bottled water in rooms. While operational issues can occur at any hotel, what was most disappointing was the response from management. After raising these concerns with a senior manager, the explanation provided was simply that these were “circumstances.” That response is wholly inadequate for a premium hotel charging these rates and operating under the Marriott brand. For a hotel positioning itself as an upscale property, one should at the very least expect basic hygiene, functioning facilities, clear communication during service disruptions, and responsive customer service. Unfortunately, my experience fell far below those expectations. The lack of accountability and the poor management response were the most disappointing aspects of an already unacceptable stay.
The hotel was bright clean and very welcoming.
The room was beautifully decorated, well equipped and very comfortable.
There wasn’t any negative experienced during our stay.
Location and cleanliness
Housekeeping is poor. When we checked in, the room was literally empty ( no amenities in the bathroom, no water in the minibar, no complimentary water, no laundry bag, no shoehorn etc.)
The room was very nice. The breakfast was pretty good. The hotel was just very expensive for what you get. It is very nice corporate hotel - it is not a big 5 star fancy or boutique hotel but the price was. We like the location very much
Price
Cooked selection was tired and over cooked. Fruit selection was poor - no summer fruits. Coffee was awful.
Very poor selection of whisky in bar. no espresso available in bar in evening. Temp in restaurant and bar too cold.
