Location
We were supposed to stay at the corner and the bigger room. However, the substrate room was smaller and not clean. They gave us free parking, drinks, and breakfast but we are not happy about this experience with them.
The hotel is located downtown on the water (Lake Ontario), very close to many downtown amenities. Our king room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We were very satisfied with the in-house restaurant (the Wharf and Feather), such that we ate both dinners there, first night on the patio and second night indoors (on account of bad weather).
The reason for just an average rating is this. The occasion for us being there was my wife's nursing reunion, for which husbands were not invited. This meant time on my own, some of which I had intended to watch TV (golf, baseball and the Belmont Stakes). Unfortunately, there was a malfunction of the TV - it could not bring regular channels, although I could access my bill and pay online. A service person (Mohammed) came to the room and attempted to remedy the situation, without success, but he certainly did try (we were present). Interestingly, the couple with whom we had dinner that evening had the same problem with their TV, leading us to question how widespread the problem might have been. For anyone planning to stay here and intending to watch TV, the first thing I would do is check out the TV before you unpack.
This hotel is in a really great location. Nothing too special about the hotel itself or the rooms, but the harbor view was nice, and the location was super convenient to walk to restaurants! Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.
great location food good beds comfy staff friendly. breakfast lovely
Excellent location right on the waterfront with beautiful views and easy access to downtown Kingston. The facility was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The room was spacious, quiet, and well equipped, making for a relaxing stay. Breakfast was enjoyable with a good variety of options and friendly service. Overall, a wonderful experience, and I would gladly stay at the Holiday Inn Waterfront in Kingston again
The hotel overall was excellent, with a great waterfront location, friendly staff, and beautifully renovated facilities. However, one aspect of the room design did not work well for us. The bathroom and closet shared a single sliding door, which meant that when the closet was closed, the bathroom was exposed, and when using the bathroom or shower, the closet area was exposed. It felt awkward and did not provide the level of privacy or functionality we expected. We mentioned this at check-in and were told it was a newly renovated room. While the renovation is attractive, this particular design feature may need to be reconsidered or improved for guest comfort.
الموقع ممتاز . والموظفين جميعهم دون استثناء جدا رائعين ويعملون باخلاص الجميع هذا لاحظته بالفندق
تهالك بعض الاجهزه بالغرف
Loved the location, and the view from our room.
Did not like the extra parking fees $30 and that the breakfast buffet was $22 per person for the same quality food that is included most everywhere we stay
Gute Lage, sehr gutes Frühstück, gutes Fitnesstudio.
Kein Housekeeping in einem der gebuchten Zimmer, für den Preis und vermeintlich 4 Sterne ein sehr übersichtliches und etwas günstig wirkendes Ambiente. Für die Schlichtheit zu teuer.
Well situated and very good service at front desk and restaurant
A bit too expensive for what you get
We have stayed at this hotel a number of times in the past few years and brought several friends and family two years ago. At that time, experience was less than optimal. Parking (which you pay for) was difficult (one night could not find a space) and also not recognized at IHG members. Not a big deal, but folks in our party were given complimentary breakfast vouchers (hadn't booked through IHG for years). We weren't recognized as IHG member or given vouchers. When I asked, was told we need to be members - have been members for years. This year, we decided to give it one more try and I'm so glad we did. Check in was great with follow up texts the next two days. Wharf and Feather folks were amazing, too. We will happily go back and recommend!
Only the buffet food
1. Staff behaviour for check in not allowed until 4.30 pm.
2. Balcony was private but not clean.
3. Overpriced when compared to delta hotels much much better.
4. Crib was not goven with so many requests.
5. Bad behaviour of staff when asked for tooth paste and toothbrush for multiple family members but the staff gave only 1 tooth paste and brush.
6. Has taken 100 cad on hold and did not return yet.
1. The location on the waterfront close to downtown Kingston.
2. That it is pet friendly. The dog water bowls in the entrance to the lobby were very welcoming and gave a friendly vibe.
3. Friendly concierge, helpful staff.
4. Amenities - loved the iron and ironing board in the room, the microwave, the pool, the fitness centre, the guest laundry, the breakfast included (breakfast was nice, but not piping hot).
1. The dirty windows on the patio doors.
2. The goose poop right outside the patio doors, on the grass directly outside and on all the walkways. Yuck.
3. The hair in the bathroom sink when I walked in.
4. The smell in the room.
5. No screen on the patio door to let in fresh air.
6. The dried drop of blood on the pillow case.
7. The extra charge of $30 each for my two
Cavalier King Charles spaniels.
8. The extra $30 charge for parking.
9. That the breakfast sausages and bacon weren't hot in their serving dishes at 7 a.m. when we were the first ones there for breakfast.
10. No fan in the bathroom, no bathroom shower mat.
