While I would have preferred to stay in the Jordaan area simply because it was quieter, this hotel was actually quite accessible to everything in the city being first time visitors. Amsterdam Centraal train station is a quick walk which was a blessing given we had three pieces of luggage. We also utilized the free ferry several times which is behind the train station along the water. Plus, it was so easy to bike (used the fabulous free bikes offered by the hotel) to Westerpark and beyond once we crossed the wild intersection in front of the train station. Don't even try to attempt it if you are biking for the first time in Amsterdam. We safely walked our bikes through instead. Biking in Manhattan is way easier! The Kimpton was lovely. Room was exceptionally clean. The folks manning the Concierge and Front Desks exceeded our expectations. Everyone was so helpful and welcoming. Even the bar and Celia restaurant all offered fantastic service. The hotel was a lovely walk to most places we needed to be. Always felt safe even at 11pm. We took the tram (station is right in front of the hotel) a few times when we wanted to get somewhere quickly. We also took advantage of the gorgeous vintage canal boat the hotel owns and operates. The canal ride was well worth our time and the captain was superb. Highly recommend.
We unexpectedly arrived after a cancelled flight without luggage. The welcome was awesome, and the toiletries available were such an incredible relief. The team could not have been more helpful. I will return with my family, and this will be my go-to hotel from now on!
There were no issues or anything I did not like. The style, location, and team make this a fantastic hotel to stay at.
Vriendelijk onthaal (in het Engels)
📍 konum
Stayed here 2 nights before heading off on a river cruise and very glad we did. This is an excellent hotel. Very good location, within walking distance to all the places you might want to go and a tram right out front if you need it. The staff are very professional and friendly, and the evening, free social events are a really nice touch. If you are joining a cruise at the central wharf, it's just a short walk away. We had a premium room with a king bed, and it was a really good size, quiet and very comfortable. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel because I have an allergic reaction to the costs of all hotel breakfasts, I think it was 30 euro a head here and there are good options nearby, we can recommend Mortimer as an excellent choice. All in all, really nice hotel and we would stay here again.
Highly recommended!!! Short walk from central station and lots of restaurants and shops. Right on multiple tram routes. Large room & bed. Plus EXCELLENT service (specially Lorena).
Nothing
Great location
Value for money isn’t great
Room was spacious even when we added a roll-away bed. Staff were very friendly and efficient.
Hotel breakfast was €33, so we didn’t partake, but plenty of options close by.
Really nice hotel in a good central location. Only stayed for one night for work, but the room was large and well laid out and the staff were very friendly at check-in and check-out. Would happily stay again for both work and personal trips.
When most hotels go out of their way to say yes, Kimpton de witt has no problem saying no. Not a single person offered to take our bags or deliver them to our room when we arrived or departed. Had a $180 credit with my booking, but was told it was limited to only food and beverage, and not the thing I actually needed, which was laundry. Took 3 tries to get laundry bags sent to my room. When I finally went to the front desk, after realizing that I would be using them for a 3rd party laundry service, they offered me 3 clear trash bags as a replacement. The room was OK, but the first night, the turndown guy came by and basically told us we didnt want turndown service. Just bad service all around. Was going to try breakfast one morning, but the hostess was moving as slow as humanly possible, with a line out the door. So we had to forego eating before a 50km bike tour. Unless youre staying here to be in the center of Amsterdam, I'm sure you would find better service pretty much anywhere.
Clean nice lactation near to the metro and tramb..the staff is very nice people
..
The location gives many points to this hotel. Its a fairly new property and staff is lovely. Breakfast can be far better. Rooms are good enough.but both rooms and Bathrooms could have a bit more shelf space
Bonne literie, le calme, la propreté
Chambre très sombre peu de lumière
Hoy
El desayuno está un poco mal organizado. Paciencia con el cafe.
Staff are so friendly and considerate. Centrally located, although this can also be a downside as there is noise outside. The food at Cafe Celia is good.
Badly maintained over the years so you have scuffed furniture and walls, stained carpets, old and hard linens/towels, badly scratched floors and I even had a bathroom with mouldy tiles. Cleaning isn’t great - there’s hair in bath and the limescale/grime in showers is bad. Definitely not what is expected of a 5* hotel with rooms of over 500€/night during peak season.
Centrally located which also means noisy bedrooms.
What a wonderful hotel. It is located just off one of the main streets in Amsterdam, close to so much of what the city has to offer. We were within walking distance of everything going on, yet the moment we stepped inside, it felt like we had been transported into a calm and relaxing space.
The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very well kept. The staff was also wonderful. From the moment we arrived, they greeted us kindly and treated us like friends.
It was quiet, welcoming, and the perfect place to stay while visiting Amsterdam. We would gladly stay here again.
