The location is convenient.
I arrived at 10:30 pm. The thermostat was stuck on 90^o F for the AC. I was more comfortable when I just turned it off, because it was 55^o F outside. But of course I couldn't open a window. I called the front desk, but the hotel was full, so I couldn't change rooms. I can't believe that a previous guest did not call (it was July) and complain. I was to stay two nights, left after one. But, the story has a happy ending, I found a gorgeous Airbnb in the hills of Oakland, Montclair, for half the price of the Hilton.
A very so so stay. With a very large problem - no hot water at night. Ran the taps for a very long time thinking it was a high floor issue. But no hot water could be found either night of my stay. I did get morning hot water (not super hot) but very low water pressure throughout the stay. Upper floor rooms on bay view side - also need to keep drapes drawn or the afternoon sun makes the room a sauna. The AC could not keep up. The AC also turned off randomly.
The breakfast was spot on , location was great
Nothing that I could think of
I like the location. Close to freeway.

We enjoyed many features of this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful when we arrived from the train station. That set us up for a great experience. There was everything we needed in the room and they had upgraded us to a higher floor. As a curtesy, they had also upgraded another family member coming a few days later to the same floor. We appreciated the large window which gave the room lots of natural light and the blackout curtain worked well when we wanted to sleep. We also needed the privacy curtain because there were painters outside our window that could peer in.
Unlike the dark bar area with the uncomfortable chairs where dinner is offered, the breakfast area is very pleasant with a variety of seating arrangements to choose from. They offered hot breakfast, but we were content purchasing the less expensive continental breakfast which included hot oatmeal. The kitchen staff was very gracious, providing a milk alternative for my protein shake and letting me use the toaster for my own special bread. We had a family visit in the evening and we were grateful that the hotel has an outdoor eating area where we could all hang out and share pizza. Unfortunately, anyone that parks at the hotel has to pay $30.00 and there isn’t a designated place for a friend or a Lyft driver to pick up guests.
One of the outstanding features of the Hilton brand is the comfortable beds: this hotel was no exception. The bonus feature was the large night stand area next to the King bed for me to put my CPAP machine on as well as plenty of USB ports. The air conditioner worked well but was still a bit noisy adding to the roar of the freeway below. Fortunately, we didn’t hear the train whistle or BART zooming past. The other thing that really bothered me was their pet policy. We were ready to go to bed at 10 p.m. but there was a dog in the next room yapping loudly for quite a while. When I went down to the front desk to ask about it (the phone in the room didn’t seem to work) they told me there was nothing they could do since the owner paid for the dog to stay with them. Eventually, the security person came to check to see if the dog had been left in the room alone and before long the barking stopped. In the morning, when we went to breakfast, we saw a dog sitting on a cushion at one of the tables in the dining room being fed by the owner. I didn’t complain since it was the alternative to a dog being left alone in a hotel room bothering everyone down the hall by yapping.
The bathroom had some nice features: plenty of fresh towels, shelves for toiletries, and an adjustable shower (if you are tall enough to reach the control). Unfortunately, the water temperature wasn’t consistent and I never got a really hot shower. They have a picture in the bathroom over the toilet rather than extra towel rails which were sorely needed to hang used towels.
One of the other amenities not mentioned on the website and not signposted in the hotel is a laundry room with coin operated machines. They even sell detergent in the snack shop and well as toiletries and food. What we missed the most was an indoor pool—they only offered an outdoor hot tub and the weather was too cold for that. Because of the location next to a freeway it isn’t a great place to walk around and most of the shops and restaurants are on the other side. Despite the few annoyances, there were so many good things about this hotel that we would be happy to stay here again.
Good accommodations and clean.
The location was hard to get to from the train station.
pricing and views great
Room was a little dirty low effort put in clean up, staff a bit unhelpful at times, outside furniture a mess, Saturday night front desk worker just not helpful seemed to be bothered by me when I asked for help. water pitched empty and sat for hours like that
