Modern hotel, decent size rooms for Tokyo.
Great location, close to the train station, easy to get around and also quiet at night.
Lots of food options within a walking distance, as well as a seven eleven
There's no washing machines at the hotel, but there is a place a few mins walk
It's just across the river 5 mins from Akihabara JR/Kodemmacho subway stations and the giant Yodabashi (which has high quality restaurants upstairs) - use either the pedestrian bridge or the main road bridge. Easy to get to many key parts of Tokyo as well as Narita Airport. Good (touristy) food galore nearby. Ochanomizu foodie areas within 10-15 mins walk. Ameyoko in Ueno just a walk down the JR line - or one train stop (Okachimachi). Veloce coffeeshop and minimart just 3 mins away. Super clean and fairly new rooms. The double bed was huge by Japan standards and fairly comfortable. Airconditioning was excellent. There is a 24/7 permanently open work space on the same street. Just pay for a vending machine drink and you can stay there for as long as you want with power supplied. The hotel is on a very quiet street with superb double glazed windows in the room. Ask for a room facing the street (not the river) if you want quiet. The reception staff and housekeeping were very helpful and professional. It's ultimately lacking in the neighbourhoody vibe but it's super conveniently located.
The room layout was a little poor. The desk was so small to be completely unusable for work because the TV and kettle and tea set takes up nearly all the space. No proper chair supplied. I had to use my laptop from my bed. Like some other small rooms in Japan, if you have the usual large sized suitcase, it can be hard to find a place for it in the room (I used the sitting bench). Probably impossible for two large suitcases. No self laundry, but laundry service is available and there's a coin laundromat within walking distance. I guess you can't have everything. The convenient location and transport access is a winner.
Great hotel
The location was fantastic. Very good base to get around to other parta of Tokyo. The properly felt modern and there was a great selektiivinen of amenities.
There are two hotels with very similar names on the same street, I felt that the receptionist in the Hotel Resol Stay wasn’t very polite when telling us that we were at the incorrect hotel.
The hotel is well located. It is right around the corner of Akihabara's main shopping streets. It is well connected, with multiple train and subway stations nearby, which made moving through the city quite easy. It was also really easy to get to Narita Airport from this place.
Breakfast was good, nothing too outstanding though, the hotel has a small restaurant where they serve a buffet breakfast with both japaness and western options. Also, since the building is next to a river, the restaurant has a good view of it which gives to the place a good and relaxing vibe.
Beside being quite close to the train tracks, the room had good sound isolation, so the outside noise was not a problem.
The free wifi worked fine and we didn't have any issues with it.
The room was rather small (at least the one we were in), but we felt comfortable in it. We traveled with two carry-on cases, and later we bought a third one and didn't have any issue opening them in the room.
Bathroom was clean and modern.
Finally, in the hotel's lobby there is a free coffee machine and a microwave that all guest can use, also they provide free complimentary stuffs like tea bags, hair vitamins, moisturizing face mask, bath salts, etc.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and we think it is a recomendable choice.
The rooms are cleaned once every three days, although they provided clean towels and complementary free water bottles every day.
Everything was really good, so it is hard to nail down specifics. I'd say the best thing was the pillows. We saw something similar at a store in Shinjuku for $300 each. They are awesome. The bed was also firm which is a godsend compared to the overly soft mattress in most US hotels, so no back pain in the morning. There were tons of little things available to borrow to help if someone forgot to pack them like a phone charger, curling iron, etc. The place was immaculately clean and was really well thought out in terms of storage and features, so despite the room being small, it was easily manageable with 2 big suitcases. Location was really good; very close to multiple trains, restaurants, and stores. It's just off the river on a small street, so there is very little noise from the main road.
It was so good that I would have to channel my inner "Karen" to have anything to say.
"There was a packet of coffee in the room to make coffee on the first night, but they only clean every 4 nights, so no new coffee packets in between. The lobby has a coffee machine though and extra toiletries available, so a very minor inconvenience. "
So yeah, that's about as harsh as I can be.
