Very well laid out especially the rec/ sitting area
Staff were excellent
The room smelled of lacquer from recent renovation. Renovations were taking place above us from 9am-9pm daily and the noise was deafening. Very unpleasant. Manager kindly offered us compensation by way of a room to “rest” in for a few hours, complimentary buffet dinner and shuttle to the airport - all of which we were extremely grateful for, however nothing could compensate for the constant drilling and jackhammering directly above us. Loud to the point of not being able to hold a conversation. These rooms should never have been allowed to be occupied while the renovations are taking place.
The staffs are nice
Hotel is quite old.
There is a construction noise from other floors which we were not aware of before booking but they just sent us a message after we have already booked it.
Breakfast variety was ok but not impressive.
The location is close to Somerset MRT and Centrepoint. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Staff were professional, location was ok, rooms were decent
Massive construction and demolition works ongoing every day 9 am to 6pm non stop without break except Sundays. The sledge hammer and wall demolition is incredibly loud and even during lunch not allowing kids to sleep. AC was not working too cold all night. Works ongoing since January and at checking you are only told about "some minor works with minimal disruption" while the actual works are massive and should require hotel to close while they are done... And of course bookings are non refundable when people find out about them on the spot... Terrible management choice and poor staff who need to handle angry guests, we do feel sorry for them.
Refurbished rooms to a good standard
Was assigned the wrong room. Had to go back to counter and ask to be given correct room. No apology and when I went back to my room, the manager called me to try and convince me to stay in the room they assigned me.
Planned maintenance work was going on which is fine, but our room was the floor in which it was happening. They should have given us a room on another floor to minimise disruption for guests. Kids had to try and sleep through horrendous drilling sounds during the day.
No acknowledgements or apologies. Just made to feel I was the strange one for raising any issues. Service poor.
The pool worker was the highlight. He was the most friendly worker we met, always put a smile on our face when we stayed there and was always very nice to us. Thank you to the guy who worked upstairs at the pool.
The construction noise was not helpful.
Perfect location
big room for the 4 of us. it is near Orchard Road and also near the subway which makes it convenient. there is also a 7-11 very near the hotel which makes buying basic things very convenient

I was advised that the upgrading works would not happen on a Sunday - which is untrue! Very noisy and disrupted our sleep and periods of rest after busy days of walking and exploring. When I questioned staff at check out on the Sunday - they said “I’m sorry” Hotel aircon wasn’t the best and room had a “weird” smell that I can’t explain.
We had a mostly pleasant stay — the staff were friendly and genuinely helpful throughout, and our room was comfortable and well-appointed.
Unfortunately, our experience was significantly impacted by construction taking place on the floor above us. The noise was highly disruptive during the morning hours and made our room essentially unusable for that part of the day. We feel the hotel could better manage this by temporarily removing affected rooms from inventory while work is ongoing, so future guests aren't caught off guard.
