Canceled my stay
Pros:

It looked like a halfway decent place and I would have stayed there if anyone would be at the counter or answer the phone.

Cons:

No employees around when I went in.

A huge relief on a very stressful business trip
Pros:

This is a quaint time capsule hotel with a really cool old time foyer; complete with pool! It is well preserved and well maintained despite it's vintage.

Cons:

Grounds could use some updating. Parking lot isn't striped. Concrete is very old, cracked and heaving.

Stayed a week at Hyatt House Evanston - do recommend
Pros:

Breakfast is first class, as is front desk staff. We liked the room cleaning every other day as we stayed for a full week. Cleaning staff are awesome as well.

Cons:

We would have loved to have a hot tub available, but that's it. Great location probably made up for that...

Our stay was fine, but way too expensive

Breakfast was fine, room was clean. Location was what we needed on our way home from our river trip.

For what it is and where it is, it was REALLY expensive.

Didn't stay, hotel smelled.

Location and counter help

Cons:

The first room we occupied had a leaky toilet, so we had our room changed. The second room smelled with cigarette smoke. The halls and both rooms were stale with musty smells and chlorine that emanated from the pool. The carpet among the entire building smelled old and stale. We couldn't stay under these circumstances and left. The front desk refunded us our money.

The staff was very courteous and helpful with my room door problem.
Pros:

Easy to get to from highway.

Cons:

Pool was in main lobby and chlorine smell was strong. Also, while we were eating breakfast they mopped lobby with very strong cleaning smell and we had to leave eating area. I had to move to new room due to broken door that allowed anyone to enter room.

I would never stay here again.
Pros:

Melissa cleaned our room. She was the best.

Cons:

Very dated. We are elderly and had to haul our luggage upstairs. No elevator. Asked for a ground floor or some help. Nope. Did I say dated? Many things need upgrades. No towels at the pool. Kitchenette sink was clogged. Bath towels are thin. Beds were decent. Some lights didn’t work. Few places to plug in or charge anything. Security entry doors were broken.

Pros:

Ehhhh

Cons:

My dog was barking when maids walked by and I kept getting calls about him because of this. Then I was told my last day wasn’t booked when the front desk lady told me it was for the last day & they were trying to move my room when I was in two towns over. Then I was charged more than any other day for the last day. Crazy. My sink didn’t drain, the fridge didn’t keep the food cold (had to toss out at least $100 in stuff I could have brought back, the bathroom handle kept falling off. Won’t be coming back to this hotel for my early trip ever again.
