recently stayed at this two-star property, and it is in desperate need of a major update. On the positive side, the bed
Cons:

recently stayed at this two-star property, and it is in desperate need of a major update. On the positive side, the bed itself was comfortable. However, the room suffered from significant external noise issues, making it difficult to rest fully. The most appalling part of the experience was the food, particularly the breakfast. The quality was completely unacceptable and a poor reflection of the chef, who honestly should not be appear outside the kitchen. I cannot recommend dining here until drastic changes are made.

City centre dream
Pros:

Olde world charm. Central location.
Greatest choice of food on evening menu. My first choice of fish &chips wasnt not available but the big plate of Scampi and chips, was more than ample

Cons:

Mine was the last room in the building. Up and down the few steps along the way. But it added to my daily steps count.
If bringing your car, and you are lucky enough to get a free parking space. DONT MOVE YOUR CAR..(LOL)

Despite being a lovely pub with great food, the room let it down badly, we didn’t stay for our second night!
Pros:

Lovely pub with excellent food.

Cons:

The room was in need of a major refurbishment. We had to get a member of staff to clean the wc which obviously had not been done prior to our arrival. Not nice!
It was very hot weather, and the windows barely opened, and despite having a fan, the room was far too hot to sleep. The bathroom had a towel rail that was piping hot and unable to turn off. Very uncomfortable night, not helped with an awful foam pillow.

A good time, spoiled by the heat and lack of air cooling.
Pros:

Location was amazing, and practical for our needs. The food was good and the staff very helpful. The heat caused more problems than we expected, and although fans were provided, the age and place of the building meant that the heat made life uncomfortable during our stay. To be fair, I don't think anyone could have changed that. It would need air conditioning units in each bedroom. A thought for the near future.

Cons:

Iced water for the fans to be more effective, or Iced water to keep customers staying the night hydrated.

Avoid twin room 10
Pros:

It was a hotel pub conveniently located in Andover.

Cons:

The twin room number 10 was dirty, with broken wood around the window, the dresser had rubbish behind it.
The wall paper was peeling from the walls & the ceiling had damp.

A quiet trip away
Pros:

The staff were incredibly attentive, striking that rare balance of being professional yet genuinely friendly. I would like to give a shout out to jake behind the bar who made me feel super welcome While the building is full of old-world character, the modernized amenities ensure you don't have to sacrifice comfort for aesthetic. Whether you are a fan of history or just someone who appreciates a really well-executed breakfast, I would highly recommend booking a stay here. It’s the kind of place that feels like a home away from home

Not impressed
Pros:

I didn’t like much about the hotel it’s old & very run down.

Cons:

Didn’t like how run down it was need updating badly when we first got there the room was wrong we was supposed to have a twin room for me & my sister & they tried to give us a double room then they changed it I ended up in a single child’s bed & it was to small & the second night we was there the electric kept going off so my sister had to keep going down to report it because no one would answer the phone 📱 as I was in the bath 🛁 so that wasn’t great & we was told on the day of check out we would have a refund for that night & it never happened so we won’t ever go back that’s for sure we was not impressed at all.
