I stayed here for 4 nights on a recent business trip. We were meeting at a local wework and warehouse nearby, and the hotel served as a functional home base, though there is definitely room for improvement in the hospitality department.
Check-in was very fast, which I appreciated after a long flight. However, the receptionist lacked basic customer service skills and was a bit grumpy, which set a lukewarm tone for the stay.
The room and bathroom were "ok"—clean and functional for work, but nothing special. Note that housekeeping only comes every 2 days.
I’d recommend skipping the in-house food. It’s expensive and the quality doesn't match the price. The good news is that the hotel’s location is fantastic; we found several excellent dining options within walking distance that were much better value.
The hotel worked well for our commute to the local warehouse area. A huge plus was the proximity to Stone Mountain; we managed to fit in a hike up the mountain, which is quite close and a great way to decompress after work meetings.
I really enjoyed staying at this Marriott Hotel! I was able to receive their special rate for my entire 8 day stay👏🏾
Everyone from our front desk staff, your wait staff, to your cleaning staff was so friendly and accommodating🫂
I really enjoyed your accessibility to so many & various eateries within walking distance of your hotel! My favorite stop was Folk Art🧆👏🏾 I REALLY LOVED THEIR GRITS👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Overall, staying at your Atlanta/Decatur Marriott Hotel make helped to make my friend’s Celebration of Her Life even more Special!
I would love to stay here again when the area & would highly recommend it to my family and friends👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Great location
Decently located hotel in Decatur, but overall quality not great. Very thin walls (easy to be woken up by babies crying in the neighboring room). And the hotel curiously had loud leafblowers being used on its property, right outside of hotel room windows, at 7:30am.
Not sure what to make of this property. I'm a Marriott member but now I'm wondering if this is the way to go. The hotel physical property is fine, the food service people were fine, but they apparently no longer make your bed during the day or provide new towels(we had to go ask for that at the front desk). Housecleaning staff were always visible on the floors but they apparently only clean rooms where the guests have departed. Now I'm wondering if this type of cost-cutting is the plan going forward for all Courtyard's and/or all 3 star hotels. Further, there was no staffer immediately available at the front desk at check-in; other customers experienced the same headache over successive days, especially later in the evening. This property is close to being nice but now just so-so.
This was a very special visit and a very special weekend, as we were visiting my granddaughter at a school function for Grandparents Day. It was also a very cold weekend with a winter storm advisory. Our room, however was 78 degrees! We tried to turn on the AC and that made it worse. After making a call to the front desk, we were told to cut it off completely, as this hotel used a boiler system and that should help with the temperature. IT DID NOT! We had to spend 2 nights in a room at 78 degrees with my granddaughter complaining constantly of the heat. We even spoke with maintenance, and also no help. They offered to move us, but said it would be the same way. No fan, no help. It was an awful experience and I hate it because the hotel is in a great area. But will NEVER stay again for this reason.
Did not do breakfast
We didn’t stay long as our flight was cancelled. Just needed a place to sleep and shower.
Outstanding front desk folks at
Check-in and checking out.
Nothing to bring up.
Folks like Ashley and Angel made the visit feel friendly and genuinely geared towards the best customer experience. The facility was also clean, rooms were spacious, and included a fitness center and pool. Will choose this hotel again in the future.
Good hotel, stayed for one night
Everything was fine except for the fact that....(see below)
We did not know that towels wouldn't be changed out every day; had to fetch them ourselves. The hotel was very empty when we wer there, and nothing was open (bar, restaurant, etc.)
