Never again! Check-in staff were rude and snarky when my husband's card declined for the deposit (which we later discovered was fraud flagged from using it at a local bar). The bar-side pool is quite a walk through the parking lot from the main hotel and it would have been nice to utilize some of those golf carts parked but not a staff member in sight. The pool is a whole other issue. DIGUSTING, had a thick consistency and you VERY SELDOM see anyone get out to use the restroom, so we mostly hung on the side. The bartender was super overwhelmed and drinks were so-so but you'll for sure pay in excess for them! Don't even ask about the bar-side snacks (which we were counting on as dinner), because I was told IF the kitchen had time it would take forever. Our server at The Encore breakfast brunch was very nice and took care of us (young man), food was basic but better than the free continental breakfast offered and that had already been completed consumed and not replenished by 9 am.
Decent location from all the hot spots we wanted to visit and nice views of the marina, but I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Location and amenities
Room was hot, stale, musky. property is old and out dated.
Staff were very friendly. I liked the location as we always eat dinner at Bentley's and we could just walk there and our favorite breakfast place The Rusty Rooster Cafe is right across the street. We enjoyed the Encore Sky Bar.
Our room was very humid and the air barely worked. Our shower had very low pressure and the mixer valve had to be messed up cause there was a lot of cold water mixed into the hot water and what warm water you had only lasted for about 45 seconds.
As the previous review mentioned the updates are lipstick on a pig. This is a motel they are presenting as a "resort." The free breakfast is in fact free, but it's carb only no protein. You'll find waffles, bagels, and cereal, but no hot items unless you count microwave oatmeal packets. The indoor pool is fine, sun deck is fine, game room is a joke. We didn't try the restaurant so it might be good, but $30 for a bowl of Chicken Alfredo wasn't worth me poking my head in.
Staff is friendly and helpful. Motel is mostly clean, but did receive towels with some staining, etc. Had a view of the "marina" which was actually just a road and an empty boat yard. Would not stay again, it's simply not worth the price point and added resort fees.
This is a great little family owned resort at the lake. The staff was amazing and fun. They had l great live music and a DJ. The room was clean and beds were comfy.
Location and cleanliness
Some of the staff were rude and they could have handled things differently
Charged for the room multiple times and no manager available to resolve
I like the hotel
The misconception on booking it's states check out is 12 but it's really 11
Claims of newly renovated are just lipstick on a pig.
I like the size of our room.
I didn't like the availability of towels.
The amenities such as the restaurant at The Encore & the pool was cleaner/better at The Encore.
Mosquitoes & dead flies were in my bathtub. My room floor was filthy, you could see the dirt under my socks. Bugs were crawling on my wall, I killed it & others came. The ice machine was broken in my building, so I had to walk to the main building for ice. Equipment was broken in Fitness room, in which they made sure the doors were locked, so you couldn't use the treadmill. Not to mention, the small fitness room was located inside the pool area.
