A 1 AM Nightmare. Avoid This Bait-and-Switch Hotel!
Pros:

Worst hotel ever !! Do not let the nice lobby fool you—the inside of this hotel is a filthy, broken-down mess. I was moved to FOUR different rooms in a single night, and each was worse than the last.
We encountered torn carpets, heavily rusted and missing bathtub drains, a broken AC unit that blew freezing air until I had to physically unplug it from the wall, loose wall sockets, and non-working room phones. The final room they gave me had two heavily stained mattresses, loose bed springs, and a toilet that barely flushed.
When I gave up and walked out at 1 AM demanding a refund, the front desk agent had the audacity to harass me about my service dog, despite me already answering all legal verification questions. Total lack of basic hygiene, maintenance, and human decency. Avoid this place at all costs!

Hit or miss, mostly miss.
Pros:

Hit or miss but more miss than anything. If you go, ask for a remodeled room. They have some that are newer and others that are at least 20 years old. Peeling wallpaper, mold in the bathrooms, broken, stained everything. The old rooms are awful and not worth whatever you're paying. The newer rooms are better but walls/doors are cardboard. I heard every word, phone call, etc from the next room, hall, etc. Nothing restful about it. Lots of parking, I guess that's one good thing. I had to stay here for work but was very glad to leave.

It was clean. Microwave in room. Comfortable beds. Great television channel options. Evening entertainment available. Snack/needs store stocked extremely well. Located near major highway, several restaurants and entertainment. Near walking trails and Cuyahoga County parks and recreational areas also. Ample parking…

Cons:

Hallway carpet on first floor starting to roll up in middle. I tripped… Doors opening and/or closing was loud and vibrates or rattles our door (perhaps adjust door strike)… The window blind was broken and didn’t go up or down properly… No room fridge.

Good Hotel for Small Conference Groups
Pros:

Attended a conference at this hotel, and many aspects of this hotel were better than would be expected.

Positives:
1. The hotel is attached to the Independence conference center, and there are conference rooms in the hotel and attached hotel which were better than in much fancier hotels.

2. The conference staff were very attentive and did a great job with customer service (i.e. removing dirty dishes, refilling coffee, etc).

3. The rooms were clean and surprisingly quiet considering that there were several large groups there.

4. There are many restaurants in the area, and TopGolf is only a 10 minute walk away.

5. The breakfast buffet is adequate and very inexpensive compared with other hotels. The breakfast staff was great.

Areas for improvement
1. The front desk desk did little to enhance the customer experience. It is understandable that they did not want to turn the TV volume up for the World Cup games in the lobby, but it would have been very easy to allow people to watch in the bar where there was space and TVs.

2. The rugs on each floor were poorly put down. I needed to help an elderly person keep from falling due to the loose material, and this needs to be improved.

3. The main conference room was either freezing or too hot.

4. The restaurant had few vegetarian options, and many were sold out.

I liked the bedroom size and how comfortable the beds were.

Cons:

My reservation had breakfast included but when I arrived at the property there was a sign letting guests know that the restaurant was closed for a private event so the other guests wouldn't have any breakfast option.
They Didn't refund anything or provide any voucher for us as an option.

The swimming pool water was really cold.

There was a guest next door making a lot of noise after 10:00 p.m. more than once.

We booked two rooms for to adults, a child, two grandparents, and I wouldn't recommend these hotel for a family. They treated us as if we were not important at all as they had a bigger event happening there.
