GREAT location! Amenities did not match the price. Rooms were clean and fairly spacious with nice views. Almost no amenities. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Perfect place to have all the needed comforts to have an enjoyable vacation. Checkin process was smooth and very cordial. Thank you, Laura, and team. The club lounge which is available to Bonvoy elite level members offers a great breakfast with cook to order eggs and wonderful nighttime Hors d'oeuvres and dessert. The Staff we had the pleasure to meet are very professional and genuinely try to fulfill all reasonable requests.
Localização e atendimento
Falta boa localização de tomadas ao lado da cama. Aspecto de quarto antigo. Falta box e bidê no banheiro.
Alguns detalhes: as poltronas para esperar o carro do vallet tem aspecto de sujeira. Café da manhã em restaurante terceirizado e à la carte sem nenhuma atratividade. E
Newport’s Marriott sits in a great spot, about a 10-minute walk from Thames Street and the waterfront, right in the heart of town. The hotel is clean, recently renovated, and staffed by a friendly, welcoming team.
It is not luxury and it is not basic; it hits the sweet spot where Marriott’s quality standards meet an iconic coastal town. You will find all the facilities you would expect. There is a hint of maritime character in the decor and architecture, but it reads as generic rather than distinctly Newport. I wish the exterior design drew more on the town’s specific character, its architecture and sailing heritage, rather than a generic design that could belong to any town.
Breakfast at the M Club was not the best; it could be richer with more variety.
Overall, a great choice for anyone visiting Newport, mostly for that location.
It was an amazing Fourth of July weekend at the Newport Marriott Hotel & Spa. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by that signature clean Marriott scent; you breathe, you exhale, and you feel right at home. I was welcomed by Andrew and Elizabeth at the front desk. Andrew was exceptional! He acknowledged our wedding anniversary with such warm pleasantries. He then informed me that our room was ready and mentioned that my wife and I would be very happy—which turned out to be quite the understatement. The room was a perfect 10, overlooking Narragansett Bay with breathtaking views from the balcony.
When we visited the executive lounge—a wonderful perk for Marriott Platinum members—Phillip catered to our every need. The fresh potato chips were delicious, and the vegan poke bowls were bursting with flavor. Later, we made our way to the Skiff Bar for cocktails, where Harry crafted them perfectly. The next morning, Bob at the coffee bar was incredibly pleasant; thank you, Bob, for serving a great cup of joe with a smile first thing in the morning.
In my estimation, the Newport Marriott is the premier hotel in all of Newport. From the abundance of amenities and the wonderful architecture to the amazing food and the staff's willingness to go above and beyond, the experience is truly immersive. As we departed, Jude was very kind and helped us with our bags to the car.
This wonderful visit would not have been possible without the help of Walter Andrews, Claire Compton, and their amazing team. Thank you for a perfect Fourth of July weekend. I have known Mr. Andrews for quite some time, and he always does his best to ensure each visit is even more special than the last. Until next time!
Big hotel ! Nice location but surprised by $48 valet fee as a long time Marriot member AND $40 dep fee which we used nothingggggggg . Will def shop around next time
We stayed here with our tour group for two nights. The room was comfortable. The hotel temperature was very chilly.
Find a cute Inn instead! Marriott has a lot of nerve to charge what they do for this hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are small, super dark and many of them face into a (loud) atrium, so you can’t even see outside. No outdoor pool or restaurant/bar at an ocean location is also disappointing.
We spent 2 nights in a water view king room. Our room was cozy but comfortable and quiet with a nice view.
Upon entering the hotel, my initial impression of lobby & hallways was underwhelming. The hotel felt a little dated. But it grew on me.
Valet parking was convenient. We could access our car easily to grab an item or two that we forgot to take to our room.
The location is very convenient. The Gateway Transit Center, with its free shuttle system, is right next door. Our two sightseeing tours departed from this location.
The hotel has a nice indoor pool with comfy lounge beds and a well-equipped fitness center.
My husband needed a microwave for medical reasons. I called and requested this. Upon arrival to our room, we were very appreciative to see the microwave. Great customer service.
Our room was on the 6th of 7 floors. Directly below us we could see rooms that had lovely decks with outdoor living rooms and gas fire pits. These rooms looked very inviting.
The view of the harbor was spectacular. It was a short walk to major attractions and the harbor
I really don’t have a negative report about anything
Another return to this wonderful resort and another set of noticeable improvements. Front Desk personnel let by Laura K are great to deal with and appreciate their prompt response to messages sent from the Marriott App. The Club Lounge food for Bonvoy Elite members went from good to exceptional based on nighttime appetizers now being prepared “fresh” by the hotel restaurant instead of the typical frozen appetizers you see at other M clubs. We had incredible ribs and crab/shrimp on a Brioche roll along with a great cheesecake (better than Juniors) for dessert. With the hotel being centrally located it is an easy walk to Goat Island or Thames Street depending on your pleasure. When you find a place such as the Marriott Newport to spend time, you can take a stoic approach to life and feel detached, relaxed, and at peace.
Loved the location, cleanliness, water cooler!!, room with a partial view of the water! layout of hotel and ammenities
not your fault but so many kids in pool and we were looking so forward to getting in an didn't b/c we saw a few hairs and small kids and workout room was also ridden with little kids playing on equipment with their parents there which is sad for you guys with how expensive it is.
Lovely spot, great staff and beautiful Reno…BUT the sofas at the side entrance are an awful mess.. the hotel has everything going for it…. Why leave those nasty ragged peeling sofas? Ruins the whole vibe…. Of this otherwise really nice hotel.
Super stay. Property Skiff Bar was good food and quick. All the staff were great, especially the Skiff female day bartender and gentleman at the front desk. Loved the lighted sail decor headboard in the room and so neat to see the old baseball stadium across the street, too. Great job team!
