After the shocking slide of Mercure Welcome now Mercure Central into disgraceful. I was not a tree and discovered this simply gorgeous hotel. And what a gem. Best seamless welcome ever and it only got better! My very spacious room an oasis of gorgeous. Quiet. Clean. Comfortable and so charming. Only downside are timings. Check out at 10am with an additional $20ph thereafter depending on availability. Breakfast kitchen closes at 10am weekends. And bar (no restaurant) opens at 5pm. The bountiful options nearby makes this really ok. Entry to reception on level M. I simply loved the experience and now this and Sofitel are my Melbourne go tos. Don’t hesitate. It’s beautiful.

Stale smell when first walked in room. No complimentary water. Towels were tatty. TV not working properly
Literally across the road from the Southern Cross Station - perfect if you just need a bed
I wouldn't stay for a few days, but perfect for a quick stop. Staff were super generous in letting us check out late due to a surprise migraine
I had returned from a long flight and was exhausted. I was allowed to go into my room early. Thankyou for allowing that. I really needed to lay down.
I wasn’t given the wifi details, when I got my key. I was too tired to ring.
The reading light did not work.
Location is convenient to Southern Cross and the workplace I had to work at.
Bathroom was upgraded & appeared reasonably new. Staff were great.
Unfortunately the restaurant wasn’t open (on a night it usually is) which was one of the reasons I like to stay here. As a women on her own in the city, I had to go out to find dinner. However this was an exception and wouldn’t stop me from staying again.
The location was excellent, close to southern cross station. The beds were comfy
