Dolphin Sands Clearwater Beach, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Mel was absolutely wonderful in helping us with our cabana and answering questions related to guest services.

We love coming here! Mark and Jace make this place very welcoming and a lot more fun. They are very easy to talk to and are willing to make our stay enjoyable! We look forward to seeing both of them each year!

The Lady at front desk was always helpful. Enjoyed the pool, music and beach bar and food. Service was great!!

Staff were mostly unfriendly, Mariah was actually very impolite, the girl Wednesday morning was nice, but the Mariah girl was not friendly, was bizarre to deal with, I had to ask for the cable listing in room to find channels on tv (that should already be in room); the coffee is not good; the beach towel system seems weird (to sign in and out - how do you know someone actually brought towels back?), but nice to have towels anyway, the rooms seem renovated and were pretty good, but doorjams seemed dirty and old, haphazard construction done, and the bed was not very comfortable and I had to sleep in middle to get slightly comfortable. Pillows were also very lacking. Location is great, private beach area is fabulous! Service on beach and pool was superb - all of them super friendly, kind, gracious, timely - they were GREAT!

We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites for 2 days & rented chairs & umbrellas from the Dolphin Sands & had a wonderful experience! It costs $20 to use 2 lounge chairs & umbrella all day. My boyfriend went out at 7:30am to reserve our chairs so we would get a front row spot… I wanted to be as close as possible to the water with an unobstructed view. I know, I’m particular. 😜😎

Mark was out there nice & early & he helped us reserve our spots & maintains the chairs & beach area beautifully! Thanks Mark! The sand is that soft white powdery sand… feels amazing! And the water is clear & refreshing! So many little fish in the area too!

It was also nice to be able to order drinks & food from the beach… the wait staff was excellent! And the food is good!! The Miami Vice with whipped cream & toasted coconut was excellent!!

So worth it! Has an excellent mini-vacay here! 😍💝☀️🐬

Our stay was absolutely amazing. The room, the ocean views, the service, everything exceeded our expectations. Everyone we encountered was beyond kind and welcoming. Being from New York, we honestly aren’t used to this level of genuine hospitality, and it made such a lasting impression on us.

There was one person in particular who truly stood out.. Mark with Dolphin Sands. My daughter and I genuinely looked forward to our conversations with him. He made us feel so welcomed and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Mark consistently checked in on us, went above and beyond, and carried himself with such kindness and professionalism.

What makes him so special is that you can tell this is more than just a job to him. He has a rare ability to connect with people in such a sincere and personable way while still remaining incredibly professional. Employees like Mark are the reason guests return, and he truly made our experience unforgettable.

I actually stayed next door at the Hampton Inn, but the private beaches connected. I had a big melt down after I took a walk on the beaches and came back to discover my belongings were missing. I immediately found the man who worked on the beach. Mark was absolutely wonderful at getting other workers involved immediately at trying to find my things! I was frantic! Eventually before too long they found my bag (right where I left it) I was looking in the wrong area! But Mark stepped right up and went above and beyond his job duties as for another that works at the Hampton. As I watched him through out the time I was on the beach, I saw someone who worked his tail off!!! Thanks to Mark, the beach guy!!!!

The location and amenities

Had such a great stay at Dolphin Sands! The hotel was super clean, comfortable, and well kept. The staff was friendly and made the whole vacation feel relaxing and easy. Mark was especially so helpful and nice throughout our stay. The beach was beautiful and clean too — perfect for a peaceful getaway. Definitely would stay here again!

Place is beautiful, convenient, clean food was great and simple. Noise was about a 3 out of 10. Workers very friendly but Mark by the beach was our favorite such a awesome person kind, sweet and funny.

This was our first time staying at Dolphin Sands, and we were so happy with our experience!! The rooms were very clean, and the food at both the restaurant and bar was excellent. We had the all-you-can-eat crab dinner, and it was one of our best vacation meals.

We absolutely loved the view from our room, and the private beach is the main reason we will definitely be coming back. Nothing beats beachside drinks in pineapples!! The location was also perfect — everything was walkable, including local dining spots and the trolley stops.

A super special shoutout to Mariah at the front desk! We’ve been home for a week and still talk about how kind, welcoming, and helpful she was. She truly made our stay even more special.

We would definitely recommend Dolphin Sands to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway!

My wife and I have been on more than 50 beach vacations. Mark has been the best beach facilitator ever. Very friendly and accommodating and focused on cleanliness on the beach.
