Categories

Cleanliness
8.2
Multiple reviews explicitly call rooms and bathrooms clean; overall cleanliness is consistently described as satisfactory.
Service
9
Staff repeatedly described as friendly, helpful and welcoming at reception; only occasional note about breakfast staff being less welcoming.
Location
9
Location is repeatedly praised as excellent for Clifton, the city centre and nearby parks; a clear strong point in many reviews.
Room Quality
6
Several guests report small, sometimes cramped or dated rooms, problems with overheating during a heatwave, lack of AC in rooms and issues such as a glass shower door hitting the sink or limited wardrobe/space.
Amenities
7.5
On-site bar/restaurant and a well-stocked mini-bar are positives; fans provided but lack of in-room air conditioning and some parking/circulation limitations reduce the score.
Value for Money
7
Good location and comfortable beds support value, but dated rooms, parking cost and mixed F&B experiences make value mixed for some guests.
Food and Beverage
6.5
Bar/restaurant mentioned positively by some; breakfast received criticism (taste and service) from other guests, yielding a mixed-to-below-average impression.
Overall Experience
7.6
Most stays are described as fine for short visits thanks to location and friendly staff, but a minority experienced significant negatives (very hot rooms, very small rooms, shower issues) leading to a mixed overall impression.

Never again
Pros:

Didn't have breakfast.

Cons:

We stayed for one night myself and my husband and parked round the side of hotel in Sunderland Place and retuning to our van the next morning it had been broken in to and all our power tools and everything else was taken. So if you are in thr same boat as us don't stay at this hotel in this area.

Welcoming and very helpful staff. Great location and a great place to stop
Pros:

The breakfast was excellent. The choice and quality of the food was better than we had anticipated. The serving staff were brilliant, very welcoming and made us feel "at home". The front of house team could not have done more for us, organising the taxis to not only take us to the wedding ceremony but also collect us from the reception. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF.

Pros:

Staff Brilliant, Ticked All the Boxes!
Pros:

Staff were so good and helpful. The feel of the hotel was a bit budget but so was the price.
It was a flying visit and we needed a bed for the night, so it was perfect.

Cons:

It was baking hot, and there was no aircon, but they did supply fans.

Boiling hot room
Pros:

The staff checking us in was really friendly and helpful, they had amenities like kettle and coffee. The outside area was nice and good bar next door, good location

Cons:

It was hotter than hell in the room. I felt like a lobster being boiled alive!😆 and only got about 2 hours sleep because of it. The hotel really should invest in air con, there was a small fan that didn't work well and the windows only opened a fraction. We sat outside for an hour in the middle of the night in a desperate attempt to cool down because it was too hot to be in there, when I mentioned how hot it was to the night staff he just shrugged (although what could he do in reality to be fair)

Decent stay but beware of noise if you are early to bed!
Pros:

Decent room but in need of a minor facelift. Though no AC, the room was perfectly cool enough with the provided desk fan and keeping curtains drawn. Good price for Bristol, but I’ve stayed in hotels in other big cities for a similar price and the facilities were better.

Cons:

The bar downstairs was certainly lively, going until 12am. I think this should be emphasised more clearly on the booking page.

Esperienza pessima
Cons:

Esperienza pessima, camera piccolissima e claustrofobica. L’unica via di aerazione era una piccolissima finestra in alto. Purtroppo l’ultima sera siamo stati costretti a dormire in reception. State alla larga!!
