A nice stay ruined by the staff when we checked out
Pros:

This would have been an enjoyable stay if the staff had not added the remainder of our deposit to our bill under spurious and seemingly random "staff charges" and had not informed us of this.

Cons:

On check in, we were asked for 50 pounds deposit a night, told it was to cover the minibar and would be returned. This is common in London and I paid 100 for 2 nights. On check out I was presented a bill to sign without comment and asked to sign it. They asked if I had used the mini bar and I said no. We never use it. I knew I owed for a breakfast and was owed about 40 pounds. I checked the bill carefully and saw they intended to pay me back 2 pounds. When I asked why, I was told that the rest was added to the room bills (with seemingly random percentage amounts) as a "staff charge". When I asked why, since that never happens in London and we had paid a charge for the room fixed in advance, they changed their comment to call it a "discretionary room/staff charge". So, in effect, they just added a chunk of my deposit to the bill, and didn't tell me. This "staff charge" is mentioned nowhere on their literature, or on Booking.com or anywhere else. ON THE CONTRARY, see the enclosed image which says the price INCLUDES ALL SERVICE CHARGES!!!! I had also been told explicitly that the deposit was for the mini bar and breakfast. So I can only conclude that it was a cheap and nasty trick, which RUINED my whole experience right there, and made me determined never to return. Only when I said, angrily, that "I am totally uninterested in paying for anything other than the breakfast" they made me a new bill. Nasty, cheap and utterly unexpected from a hotel like this.

Social pressure for an "optional" tip.
Pros:

It is a lovely hotel and in a great location. The AC was working well and made life in a very hot London very comfortable. We only had two nights and were jetlagged. We asked for our room to be cleaned after 10 am, we were out until 3pm and wanted to come back to a made bed and emptied bin. They told us that room were cleaned after 1600. A time when we would like to have been asleep...

Cons:

The percentage that they block on your credit card that is set as a tip for the staff. You can opt out, if you want, to the staff on check out. This is incredibly uncomfortable. The tipping coilture should not be forced on anyone when paying per night as we were. If aixam renting a room at that rate, pay your staff a good wage.

Lovely hotel, would recommend, parking is not available
Pros:

Lovely room, arrived at 2am and they were very accommodating. Took our bags up to our room and we went to find somewhere to park 7 minutes walk away.
Lovely hotel, didn't have time for breakfast but imagine was probably very good. Lovely toiletries. Would stay there again

Cons:

Nothing besides parking, but we knew that before we arrived so cannot complain!

As above the cost of this place outlays what you actually get. We felt ripped off by our experience.
Pros:

Our room was on the 5th Floor. The lift went to the 4th Floor. Considering that we are in our 70's this was a challenge.
Thought the hotel could have provided a suite more suitable to us but not even asked if we were happy.
Breakfast was poor... coffee undrinkable, then changed to tea which was served in a Tea pot (great) but only to realise that it had tea bags that didn't give any flavour. The Eggs Benedict was served up with eggs that could have been months old... absolutely no colour in the yoke. Gluten free toast was of a low quality.

Cons:

lack of of consideration for guests, particularly the host in the breakfast area who was quite nonchalant.
The cost of a one night stay was exhorbitant and doesn't reflect what we could of got elsewhere in a similar situation.
The cost of breakfast for 2 people was worked out to be A$170 ( a bit much when you consider it low quality). We had to ring and text from Australia to get a refund for tipping which we didn't authorise but is somehow built into the invoice till you ask questions ( very underhanded). Sorry for this bad review but this hotel needs to get its act together.
