We absolutely loved our stay at The Garland and can echo all the other fantastic reviews it has received.
Our room was spotless, spacious and really comfortable. The bathroom was lovely, with a large shower and complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The small fridge was also really handy for keeping drinks and snacks chilled.
The pool area was fantastic and very well managed, with the number of guests being monitored to make sure it never felt overcrowded. We also ate at the bar a couple of times and thought the food was excellent, with good portions and very reasonable prices.
The trolley to Universal runs every hour and made getting to the park an absolute breeze. The hotel is also really well located for exploring Hollywood and the wider LA area.
All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, which really added to the experience.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend The Garland. We’d happily stay here again!
it would be cool to have more of a fitness centre and a sauna. Please pass my thanks to Alex - i think he helped us get to Anaheim much cheaper then uber by telling us about Mike. Give Alex a pay rise!

Close to motorway so ask for room which does not face motorway.
Parking somewhat expensive at 50 USD per day.
The staff at The Garland was top-notch: welcoming and friendly, operating in a seamless and organized way. Our room was clean and very comfortable, the grounds are lovely, and have a restaurant and bar in a very nice setting with outdoor seating available. Lots of families were enjoying the pool and the evening kids’ movies. The hospitality was delightful.
We didn’t have a car but noted the high price of parking.

Lovely hotel close to universal. The free trolley service to the park was extremely useful.
Food at the hotel was great and a reasonable price. We had dinner in the lobby bar and breakfast in the main restaurant.
The vibe at the hotel was really cool. I do think they should sell the aroma which you can smell throughout the hotel as I would buy this!
Staff were accommodating when we needed to move rooms which was appreciated.
The games in the lobby bar, the pool and the movie nights were excellent for the kids.
The property is like a small getaway. Easy to get around and they have very nice staff.
Stay here every time we are in LA. Best way to describe this hotel is comforting. Such a lovely place to be.

The shuttle to/from Universal is a tremendous perk. It's not a long trip but having it at the ready is a super plus. Rooms are a bit cramped for a family of 4 but workable. Makes sense for an older hotel. Poolside movies were a nice feature. Onsite food was solid, but limited in gluten-free options so we ate dinner elsewhere. Room was clean and staff very friendly.
