This Hyatt Place is well maintained, clean, and comfortable. The carpet and pull out couches in the rooms are showing some age, but the beds are comfortable, the rooms are spacious and well lit, the rooms are quiet and you can't hear noise from hallways (a big plus!) Breakfast was quite good. Staff is accommodating and kind. There's security in the parking lot at all times - I didn't feel like it was needed but it's a nice safe feeling nonetheless. Many places to eat nearby and convenient to 270 and 315. Easy 16 minute drive to Ohio State!
Location & breakfast
Not enough towels & no disinfectant spray...
Good water pressure. Towels were fluffy.
No coffee at night. They take it up at 10pm, but desk guy did give extra coffee pods for room. Stains on carpet in room. Cheap carpet in room. No channel guide in room.... Workout room was not great...Breakfast was not good.. Staff was slow to put food out when they ran out. Waited almost 8 minutes for plates, another 7-8 minutes for coffee. Staff was apologetic about it all, but was multiple people working area, so should not have happened. Bacon was cheap and super thin,, they use pre scramble eggs, not real eggs. You can tell because they sweat after they're cooked. Multiple young people coming in and out of hotel reaking of weed...This place was just not up to "Hyatt" standards. Next time we visit family we will stay somewhere else.... We have had better stays at multiple hotels hosted by Choice, and for about $75/ less a night. Save your money, don't stay here, not worth $200 plus a night.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ua3x7f2EpBQ
U.S. Hyatt hotels are rife with traps. They know that we foreigners are unfamiliar with their rules and that they can withhold information about service charges until after the fact; they also realize that we have limited recourse to defend our rights, allowing them to ruthlessly exploit consumers like us. My own experience involved a lack of pricing transparency and a failure to alert customers to potential costs. For instance, no matter which hotel I stay at, I typically watch TV; I have never before encountered a situation where paid content is seamlessly integrated into the standard television interface. However, at this particular hotel, my child—who does not speak English—was able to access paid programming simply by clicking the remote control. The content began playing immediately, without requiring any upfront payment or confirmation. She switched between six different channels, and the hotel subsequently charged me $150. When I tried to reason with the hotel staff, they simply insisted that since the content had been watched, I was obligated to pay. They took advantage of the opportunity presented by our check-in to deliberately set up these financial traps. Had this occurred back home, the hotel would have required the customer to scan a QR code and make a payment beforehand; furthermore, the videos themselves would have clearly displayed their prices. The fact that U.S. hotels operate differently left me with a profound sense of their greed. From now on, when I travel, I will avoid staying in hotels altogether. Instead, I will follow the example of Americans themselves—opting for RV travel, camping, or other alternative accommodations. This was my third time staying at a U.S. hotel—and while my previous stays were at establishments of an even higher tier—the overall experience has consistently been abysmal. Curiously, U.S. hotel chains operating back home in my country would never dare treat consumers in such a manner. The managers at this hotel displayed a malicious attitude; they spoke in an arrogant, domineering tone and refused to even let me get a word in. I have been so thoroughly traumatized by the service and financial traps I encountered here that I doubt I will ever feel comfortable staying in a hotel again. Furthermore, regarding consumer spending in the U.S. in general, I intend to avoid it whenever humanly possible. For the price of $150, they have ensured that I will never—ever—want to stay at any U.S. hotel again. Moreover, I intend to visit various online forums to share my experiences—highlighting not only the issues with this specific hotel but also the myriad traps associated with other hotels across the United States. These traps include things like being charged simply for touching an item in the room, as well as various other mandatory fees. As it turns out, even Americans themselves frequently vent their frustrations about these very issues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ua3x7f2EpBQ
This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in for the price. Everything was designed perfectly. The suites were wonderful and comfortable. Friendly staff. Continental breakfast was slightly better than your average breakfast bar. Overall, I would return here if I ever was passing through Columbus. Lots of nice restaurants in the area as well.
Great location and varied breakfast options from cold to hot along with friendly responsive staff. Parking lot security was an added bonus.
The staff were very nice and welcoming. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was delicious. We will definitely stay again if we are ever in the area!
The beds were super comfortable and even though the hotel was at capacity for a concert, we were still promptly helped and greeted by wonderful staff.
Staff, room size, and cleanliness
Nothing was "bad." The bathroom was a little small, but it didn't affect our stay. Rokm size was spaciouas though.
The pillows are so comfortable!! They are small and square but dont let that fool you. Love the slow closing toilet seat.
No charging ports by bed or couch. You have to unplug lights to plug in charger.
I had a great stay. Comfortable and clean rooms. Helpful service. I was surprised at the cleanliness usually Hyatt places are not up to par, but this hotel surprised me.
