Overall fantastic as always. We are repeat guests.
The room was very spacious and comfortable
The pool area was noisy with works being done
I got the zoo package. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. I feel like I was scammed.
We arrived at the hotel at 7 p.m. It took us 45 minutes to get checked in because the front desk was dealing with a theft that happened at the pool. There’s really nothing they can do about that, crime happening in the hotel is not something they could control.
The main purpose of our trip was for my son's second birthday and all he wanted to do was see an elephant. I got the zoo package because I knew we could check in; it offered a toy elephant as part of check-in and he could go to sleep with his new special stuffed animal.
They did not give us anything as part of the zoo package: no time reservations to get into the zoo, Nothing zoo-related. It was essentially a scam.
When we finally got up to the room, an hour and a half after getting there, our two-year-old was completely delirious because I thought check-in was going to be much faster.
The room was one of the smelliest, mustiest, stinkiest rooms I have ever been in. Again my son, being two years old, couldn't handle the smells and it took him two hours to go to sleep because it was “too stinky.”
The beds for us were one of the hardest things we have ever slept on. The floor would’ve been equally as comfortable if it wasn’t so disgusting and smelly.
In the morning we were going to treat him to pancakes, his favorite meal in the world. We chose this hotel because we knew we could go down at 7 a.m. and get pancakes and get out the door to the zoo. We were down at the restaurant, first in and it took them 45 minutes to get us our food. I know it was under a warming light the entire time because all of our meals had dried out. You could scrape a knife across the pancakes and it sounded like a knife on concrete. I got eggs benedict and it had been under the warming light so long that the eggs in the hollandaise sauce had cooked so it was like a layer of gelatin eggs on top of another overcooked egg. It was absolutely disgusting. Someone came over and asked why we weren't eating and I didn't even want to deal with them. I just said, "Consider it a donation" because we wanted to leave. They took the eggs benedict off the bill.
Upon leaving I told the receptionist, "Hey we didn't get our toy or anything for the zoo." They said she would take the zoo package off our bill but instead we were just charged twice for the hotel. It took so long to check out we missed the opening of the zoo.
I cannot even imagine a worse experience and I never complain, I roll with the punches cause I know it’s hard out there in the service industry, but this was unacceptable.
Beautiful, clean! Great location!

In another review someone referred to the Omni as "The Grand Old Lady" from my 2 night stay I would have to say it's time to call Joseph Gawler's and put her to rest. Yes it's old but they make a great attempt to keep it dignified. A couple of my complaints are that yes its an old hotel which brings along a small bathroom and a small bathtub shower combination. The room was clean and the mattress was comfortable.
When we entered the room there were 2 bottles of complimentary water. We were thankful for that but they were never replaced the next day. For what they charge for a room there is no excuse. Another headache is the small elevators, they are old and hold 4/5 adults max, what was annoying was that people actually crammed into them and have 7/8 adults within the elevator. Food and drinks were high priced but this is DC. I had ordered a crab cake sandwich and it was mostly filler which surprised me as this is the Omni.
And what they charge for parking along with the additional fees you would think the Valets would off to help with our bags. Granted we only had two bags but they could have cared less.
Since its walking distance to our families homes I will probably stay here again though it's a lot to shell out for "convenience".
I thought that the Omni Shoreham Hotel handled my issue in a very inappropriate way. I paid in full for two massages which included pool access and received an email requesting when I would like these massages to which I replied about 2 o’clock tomorrow. I flew in last night from California to be with my granddaughter who I had not seen in almost 2 years and thought it would be a fun way to spend Saturday, but I received a phone call from Donna (very professional and lovely) at the Spa saying that there what’s not any availability and that only one masseuse working that day, and he could only start at 5:30 PM since he would be driving in from Baltimore.Because we had dinner reservations I told her we would keep one Massage reservation but have to cancel the second. Today received an email saying that I would be charged $169 so that I could accompany my granddaughter and spend the afternoon with her at the pool prior to her receiving her massage. This was such an unwarranted, unnecessary and inappropriate way to handle this matter since in good faith I paid $400 upfront thinking that I would be able to spend the afternoon with her. Certainly it is not my fault that the Spa only had one masseuse available and that he would not be available until 5:30 PM. This has left a very poor taste in my mouth and I would never recommend the Omni Shoreham Hotel to anyone. In addition, I will be posting a review of my experience both on Google, Yelp, and TripAdvisor. Nancy K
Beautiful, elegant and clean!
I don’t think there’s something i didn’t like.
Great experience, stunning hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Upgraded into a suite which was perfect for our stay. Alton and Jesper at the front desk went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The food at Roberts was fantastic. Drinks at Marquee were very good and quite strong. The hotel location and facilities are spectacular. Ideal place for kids given the ample room at the lawn, quick access to parks and zoo, as well as kid play area and bounce houses on Friday & Saturday. Pool was very nice with a great bar / restaurant option attached. Highly recommended.
Excellent hotel and resort I will recommend this place to anyone the staff are extremely friendly and I enjoyed the restaurant great food my room was clean like a wow experience thank you
It’s very near to the zoo.
The room wasn't very clean; it smelled musty and had insects.
The young lady Nazzeefa made our stay a wonderfully experience. We are so touched by her kindness and effort to help.
I booked my room through an online booking website, sadly, there must be a glitches with the booking system, my reservation was not in the hotel system
The booking agency super.com didn't answer my call, instead, their system made me waiting for more than 1 hour, still no-one took my call. It was a busy college graduation weekend, hotels in DC were sold out. Our family were concerned... then this young lady Nazzeefa showed up and found a room for us. We are truly grateful for her help.
Food was good.
The elevator was slow. Had to wait 10 minutes. One was not working. The room looked tired and worn.
Beds could have been more comfortable
