Stay away from this hotel! We booked 7 months in advance to be sure we had a room to attend a popular concert in the nearby M&T Bank stadium that night. We prepaid at a rate that was three times their normal rate. We arrived at their 4pm check in time and stood in line to check in for 2 hours before reaching the desk only to be told that they had no clean rooms ready for us. The desk agent said that they were cleaning rooms and that if went to the concert a room would be available for us upon our return. We even provided identification and our card for incidentals. The expectation was set that we would just pick up our key after the concert.
We returned from the concert after midnight. Of course there was no room for us. We were offered a room at a lesser hotel 17 miles away with a 25 minute at 1am at this point. We refused and drove the 40 miles to our home.
We requested our credit card company's travel portal initiate a refund which we just learned was refused by the hotel because alternative accommodations were offered. This is infuriating and I suggest anyone considering this hotel rethink that decision, especially when popular events are happening in downtown Baltimore.
The room was very nice. I wish we had a view of the water, however, I believe that was my booking error in not requesting. Overall, everything is in walking distance. We will definitely come back and stay. It was the perfect place to stay for my boyfriend's birthday. I do feel like the parking should be free if you are staying in the hotel. That was the only downside.
The only downside is that you have to pay for parking despite staying at the hotel. I think there should be a tag to put in car to state that you are staying in the hotel. Wonderful hotel.
The hotel was great check in was easy. Room was good
The bar and coffee attendants were lacking skills.
Super clean and comfortable. The staff was so attentive and accommodating. Looking forward to our next trip!
I reserved this hotel 4 months ago. I checked into the hotel before a concert. When I came to pick up my key, they gave my room away. They did this to several people that night. Unacceptable!!! The manager said it wasn’t his problem. Imagine that.
I booked this hotel six months ago for a concert in Baltimore. I traveled here to take my grandchildren to their first concert . While we were at the concert, someone from the hotel called and left me a message saying that they don’t have my room any longer because they over booked. I am here at midnight with my grandchildren and no where to stay. Absolutely disgraceful!

As a Marriott Lifetime Gold Elite member with more than 550 nights stayed, I rarely leave negative reviews. Unfortunately, this stay at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace fell well below the standard I have come to expect from Marriott.
I was staying at the hotel as part of a large family reunion, with many family members and guests gathering in Baltimore for this special occasion. Because of that, I was particularly disappointed by several service failures during my stay.
My reservation profile specifically requests a feather-free room due to a medical sensitivity. Upon arrival, I found four feather pillows on the bed. When I contacted the hotel, I was told that additional foam pillows were located in rooms designated for guests requesting feather-free accommodations—which was exactly what I had requested.
While some replacement pillows were eventually provided, the room had clearly not been prepared according to the reservation requirements.
What was most disappointing was the lack of follow-through after the issue was reported. Through the hotel’s messaging platform, I was repeatedly told that a manager would contact me shortly. Hours passed with no response. I followed up multiple times and continued receiving assurances that someone would reach out. The promised management contact did not occur until much later.
I also experienced delays when requesting additional items through the messaging platform. Many responses acknowledged the request, but the execution and follow-through were inconsistent.
To be fair, not every interaction was negative. Sunny at the bar provided outstanding service throughout my stay. Mr. Brunson was professional and helpful, and the concierge gentleman (whose name I unfortunately did not get) was also welcoming and customer-focused. These employees demonstrated the level of hospitality I expect from the Renaissance brand.
The property itself is well located and Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is beautiful. Unfortunately, the overall service experience and handling of a documented accommodation request did not meet expectations.
Marriott has earned my loyalty over hundreds of nights, which is why this stay was particularly disappointing.
