If you’re planning to explore Washington, DC on foot, YOTEL is a great choice. Its location near Union Station made getting around easy, and we loved ending each day with a swim in the rooftop pool.
Location, rooftop pool, rooms
Front desk service. Lady was not kind, not so helpful. Made us feel unwanted or as if we were a burden.
Staff were very helpful. Room was amazing
Our room was next to an AC unit for another building and it was also a UPS pick up so the noise started really early {3am}
I liked how close it was to a liquor store.
I didn’t like the fact they lied about the security deposit amount and about the pool being open when I would arrive. Poor air quality is not a reason to close the pool in my opinion most ppl were still outside anyways. There was no hot water in my room when I showered. Instead of calling me down stairs to speak to me, they tried to charge me an additional $40 talking about I didn’t pay for my room in full they usually don’t do that til check out. It was a constant issue with my booking.com booking they kept trying to say I didn’t pay for the room already , thank goodness I kept my receipts. That’s was all on Friday into early Saturday morning and I still don’t have my deposit back. I won’t ever come back here. EVER. && parking was ridiculous 50 if you gon leave your car until you check out && 60 to be able to come and go.
Parking $60 per night which I think is ridiculous considering we’re paying for a room and they know just about everywhere we travel in the city we had to pay for parking.
$100 per night incidental fee but they claim it’s a safety net for spending at the hotel.
The staff not being in place
Manager was rude but I will say he apologized.
Bar area and restaurant sit down area were a privilege.
Coffee machine being down and when they were working you had to rig it to get the coffee out.
It’s like if you’re not spending extra money, you get treated like you’re not valued. The rooms are already expensive and everyone who stays should get treated the same.
Pool closed the whole time until we were checking out we heard it opened. We only stayed at this hotel because of the pool videos we seen online. This was due to air quality so I can’t fault the hotel but this was disappointing for us.
They charge me for the room in the beginning with the daily incidental fee but at checkout they recharged my card instead of using the funds from the original charge and crediting me the difference. They reversed the original funds which will take a few days to credit to my account.
Location, rooms where clean
Long time to check in, probably due to the World Cup but it took a while. Went to the bar on the roof advised bar was closed quite disappointing as we booked hotel for the roof top bar
It was our wedding anniversary
Service
Nothing
My stay at YOTEL Washington DC was unfortunately very disappointing. The front-desk staff were consistently unfriendly, arrogant, and often condescending toward guests. At times it felt as if I had to apologize simply for checking in and paying for the room. Service that should be professional and welcoming in this price range was absent; questions were answered curtly and requests were not taken seriously. It may also reflect wider changes in Washington over the past 18 months — the city’s atmosphere and visitor mix seem to have shifted, which can affect service and hospitality at some properties. Overall, the reception experience left a strong negative impression, and I cannot recommend this hotel based on my visit.
Location to Metro at Union Station
Arrived 3 hours early and was told we could have to room early for another $55. Confusing check out, told to leave my room card and they would deal with it?!
The staff was very professional and helpful. They had a parking garage right at the the hotel. It was close to walk to the Capitol or you can purchase a Big Bus tour ticket at the hotel and get picked up and dropped off right in front as it was a stop along the tour route. Highly recommend this hotel when in DC.
