Convenient city center location
Very tired, 1 of 5 lights working in the main room, bath needed cleaning before use as did the kettle. Only one light operational in the bathroom. The water was tepid.
It was a comfortable stay with a very good location. We were just around the corner from everything we wanted to see and do. The staff was lovely, and we left our luggage with them while we toured around for the day after checkout. They were very very accommodating.
The property is older like most properties in England, but this one was not as updated as all the others that we stayed. Like other properties, there were no electrical plugs near the beds, so I had to plug in my C-Pap sleeping machine in an outlet across the room which made sleeping a bit awkward.
Location is great ! Rooms ideal and staff friendly and helpful!

When I arrived at my room, it looked like it was still occupied, dirty towels on the floor & in the bath, bed unmade & just a mess. I had to go back down to reception to tell them. They didn’t believe me & proceeded to check cleaning paperwork. I was exhausted after travelling and a day at work. I asked for another room but nothing was available, I had to wait in reception for over an hour for them to clean the room. I was told once ‘it won’t be long’ as the receptionist walked past me. I wasn’t offered a drink or even an apology apart from an ‘oh sorry’ after the cleaning rota was checked.
When I I’d eventually get to my room it was lovely and clean.
The room to be ready when I got there. A more sincere staff approach & apology! An offer of a drink would’ve helped. As I was waiting so long I proceeded to eat some of my food I’d purchased to eat once I was in my room. A wait of over an hour when all i wanted was to collapse in my room was very poor.
It was nicely decorated and the staff was polite and friendly.
There was no heating in the room and in these weather conditions that is not acceptable. It was not a comfortable sleep or stay due to this there was no warmth it was absolutely freezing. And there was ghost spotting and when we asked a staff member they said yes near a certain that was located by ours there is ghost spottings so I was further uncomfortable then.

No parking and for disabled its inconvenient to park on the Public Car Park.

It was really clean ,staff were really nice and helpful and the beds were really comfy and i slept well
How dated the rooms were and the price was rather exspensive and bit if an old smell in the room.
Location and shower was good
Paid for double room with king size bed only the bed was 2 singles pushed together , disappointed at £140 a night . Also resident bar closed on a Saturday night . Room tired looking mouldy bathroom window . Ashame as a lovely building and location .

Shower in the bathroom had signs of mold and the corridors are confusing and not properly labelled with directions
