Have been coming to this place for 28 years and things have changed and not for the best. Check in wasn’t great, on arrival I asked for a specific block and was immediately declined as everyone who checked in had to go into block A (this apparently was the managers decision). I was gutted as this is not the hotels ethos of accommodating requests when clearly they could. Next day I pleaded with a very nice receptionist who allowed me to move where I wanted to go to. Thank you.
Rooms are replenished with fresh towels and bins emptied daily. Last year beds were also made but not anymore. We should have had a linen refresh on our fourth day and deep clean on the seventh. This never happened. Stayed for breakfast a few times, still serving the same food since we started coming all those years ago however it’s still ok and good value for money. Dinner in the evening has now stopped. You had to get food from zebras if you wanted anything. Parking is now payable with a $50 max charge. All in all it appears the Rosen team have cut costs where they can but not for the better. The rooms still have comfy beds and great showers but really need updating.
In the evening I always like to sit out in the deli. This used to always be busy but not anymore. Why not provide board games for guests to play and have music on over the tv rather than the doom and gloom news. Surely this will entice people to spend money in your deli.
Despite all this I do love this hotel as I have great holiday memories here. Would I return again. Me yes, my husband a defiant no.
Hotel is well located, it is clean and the bed was comfortable. The room has a refrigerator and microwave. During the day the pool looked inviting.
I arrived at night and the hotel color scheme (haunted house brown), the modern prison reform architecture and 70's style murder walkway balconies made it look a bit creepy for single female Travelers. There was considerable road noise, but it became White Noise and I slept fantastic... once I cleared the room of hidden monsters and murders.
Great stay for family and friends. I would recommend the hotel turn one of the buildings into a haunted hotel (they would triple their income)
We arrived just before midnight, exhausted after a long journey, and things went downhill fast. We’d booked a room for 5 but were told at check-in we’d need to pay extra for a roll-out bed something we were never informed of at the time of booking. That may not be the hotel’s fault, but the process afterward was frustrating: we asked for the bed to be brought up straight away since we were desperate to sleep, but ended up waiting almost 30 minutes. When it finally arrived, we had to make it up ourselves, and even then we weren’t given the correct bedding instead we were mistakenly handed 10 pillowcases. By that point it was well past midnight and we simply didn’t have the energy to call guest services again.
Cleanliness was another letdown. Some of the bedsheets had visible stains, and there were cobwebs in the room. Despite the room being cramped for a family of 5 with 7 pieces of luggage, it wasn’t cleaned once during our entire stay.
the room looks clean and basic, the fridge didn't has freezer compartment, you have to pay $10 for parking, breakfast is not included and you have to pay f or a fee if you wanted (as I remembered), although there was shuttle provided to universal studio, the time is not good, you can't fully utilize the day in the park if you take their shuttles. Some days the price may be doubled of other days, if it is less than $100 (including tax), it's ok, if it's over, then may be not worth.
the buildings and location was nice
the way all living spaces were separate from main lobby
Close to parks
They don't use fitted sheets for beds. Requested a king suit e in advanced and they didn't have any left when I got there. Breakfast is over priced
The location was good and the staff
The AC wasn't cold enough the hot water wasn't hot enough and the fridge didn't get cold at all

And I still haven’t received my $50 refund yet!!!! Called 2x about it. Also didn’t understand why to pay for parking when I’m staying at the hotel. Makes no sense at all.
