Please note that the half board meal plan will not be available on the 24th and 31st of December. During these days the Grande Hotel do Porto will provide special menus that should be reserved in advance.

Pros:

Good location and plentiful breakfast, beautiful decor and clean room.

Cons:

We were checking out at 12 and were staying in our room resting and then at 11 am there were no water, so after getting ready we could not even wash our hands. It was inconvenient and personal did not let us know that there will be no water at that time

Un salto nel passato in uno splendido hotel
Pros:

Hotel elegante e centralissimo a pochi passi dalla stazione della metro Bolhao. Per chi arriva con l'aereo si prende la linea che parte dall'aereoporto e passa proprio per Bolhao. La camera standard molto comoda, bagno comodo con bidet. In camera si trova anche la macchina per il caffè Nespresso con le capsule offerte come kit di benvenuto. Colazione abbondante salata e dolce che si svolge in uno splendido salone. Sembra proprio di fare un viaggio nel tempo all'inizio del' 900.

Cons:

Purtroppo la temperatura in tutti gli ambienti era veramente bassa. Il condizionamento era un eccesso! Portatevi una felpa

Pleasant stay in the beautiful city
Pros:

Our first room was very spacious while the second one was very small, but bathroom equipment was new and good. Breakfast was very good, all dishes were tasty and coffee was good. The location could not be more central. Conditioner was effective and simply operated.

Cons:

We were urged to switch rooms because of water problem in the room above. In our room bath equipment was old, even shower cabin was not exactly cabin but made from curtain.

Multigenerational stay for one night.
Pros:

Had a huge family room with stairs to the double bed separating children from adults.

Bar was great with lovely staff and drinks.

Front desk and concierge staff rely friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Breakfast for a gluten and dairy allergen (both for same person) wasn't great. Staff were unsure what was safe to eat.

Standard room was small and cramped.

Uber taxis cannot pull up to front of hotel which can be tricky for check out/check in with lots of luggage in tow

Lovely! Feels like my place in Porto.
Pros:

This was my second stay at the Grande Hotel. I liked it so much three years ago that when I knew I was coming back to Porto, I booked it again. I had a friend with me this time who also loved it. Great staff! Great location, and so many nice spaces within the hotel besides our comfortable room to relax in. And good price!

Cons:

Nothing to dislike.

Very clean and comfortable and full of old world charm, but somehow unsatisfying overall..
Pros:

The buffet was very good, but never changed in the ten days we were there, anything else, e.g. fried or boiled, as opposed to the scrambled in the buffet was a charged extra. Ringing the odd change or at least providing some more choice, not least in the egg department would be an improvement.

Cons:

It is curious, the staff were great, could not be more obliging, but there were things I found odd, if not irritating. The bar, despite the number of people in the hotel and having published hours, could never be relied upon to be open and closed unexpectedly, on one occasion after we had bought only one round of drinks. They have a great asset in a roof terrace, but no service as such, with the result the few guests that use it do so on a do it yourself, self catering arrangement. The hotel could do more to promote both the bar with reliable hours and perhaps having a bar upstairs, even on more limited hours.
The suite had no draw space for storage and only eight hangers (more were provided immediately on request) as if they really didn't expect guests to unpack!

Pros:

The hotel was comfortable and traditional in style. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
