Unfortunately there was a 2 day taxi driver strike during our visit and hotel is not close to metro station, about a 20-30 minute walk away. However plenty of nearby restaurants to enjoy. Room was large with excellent water pressure in shower. Bed was very comfy. Overall a nice hotel on the bay. We enjoyed our stay otherwise...

The hotel is perfectly located - in the historical center of the city, right in from of Castle dell’Ovo. The exterior and interior are very nice. The staff is friendly and ready to help.

After taking an overnight flight from the US, we arrived at the hotel at approximately 10 am. Check-in was a breeze and we were delighted to hear that our room was ready. The bellhop collected our luggage, showed us to our room and gave a brief "tour", pointing out complementary waters and pastries, switches to work the automatic shades, etc. We were able to make it downstairs for breakfast before it ended at 11. It was a delicious spread and the coffee was some of the best I have ever had. The location was perfect with the water views and many nice restaurants within walking distance. I felt very safe, especially compared to other parts of the city. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was amazing. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at The Grand Hotel Santa Lucia.

4th, worst & last time. Reservations were a nightmare they refused to let 1 family of 4 stay in a room but let my other family member with 4 stay in a room, making me pay for 3 rooms. We came home with fleas from pets who stayed in the rooms. Dog barked all night in the room next to us. Rooms are worn, needs painting, furniture banged up and scratched. Loud Parties on the main floor that you could hear all night. Construction in front of the hotel so not a great view. Showers leaked water all over the floor, toilet paper holders hanging off the walls. Breakfast the same thing every damn day never a change in 4 years. I promoted this hotel for years and now I no longer can do so. GHSL needs to do better.

This hotel is perfectly situated along the waterfront, offering stunning views of the sea and Castel dell’Ovo. It’s also ideally located for exploring a wide variety of excellent restaurants, all within easy walking distance. The staff were exceptional—warm, attentive, and always willing to go above and beyond to accommodate any request. The rooms were beautifully appointed, and waking up to the ocean view each morning was a highlight of our stay.

There were only a couple of minor drawbacks. Ongoing construction along the oceanfront road made it difficult to keep the windows open during the day due to noise. Additionally, the placement of the toilet—positioned directly behind the door—can be a bit awkward, as opening the door while someone is seated could lead to an unexpected interruption, not to mention toes hit by the door.

That said, these were small inconveniences in an otherwise outstanding experience. Overall, this is a hotel we would absolutely stay at again without hesitation.
