The property was very clean and well-maintained. The room had all the amenities we needed, including unlimited coffee, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We also loved the small touches — a complimentary water bottle and a water station in the reception area made it easy to refill throughout our stay.
The staff was consistently helpful and friendly. On checkout day, they were accommodating enough to hold our bags so we could explore and pick them up later.
We also really enjoyed the bikes available at the property — there’s a lovely trail along the river that made for a great ride during our stay
The location was also very convenient, with public transit stops (including the MAX rail to the airport and local lines) right next to the hotel, and Saturday Market just a 10-minute walk away.
Downtown Portland has a noticeable homeless population. We only occasionally encountered anyone near the hotel itself, but it’s something visitors should be aware of.
Room was comfortable, though a bit small.
We tried twice to eat at the restaurant and walked away both times. First time: Not open at the posted time. Second attempt: A single staff person on duty who barely paid attention to us, so we went elsewhere for breakfast.
We were there to see the 4th’s fireworks and take a lunch cruise on the Willamette River, and it was across the street from all this activity. We came in on Amtrack and it was easy to walk or ride the metro to the hotel. It’s a bonus that their checkout time is noon!! We appreciate the free drink upon checking in. And it has parking!
We love the European style individual duvets and quilts, but it’s time to switch to a summer weight comforter since it’s July now. We don’t like the fact you have no control over the heat/air conditioning as it’s all controlled by them. We had no fan in the bathroom and it took a long time for hot water to make it to the 5th floor. We didn’t think the personal fireworks would continue until early morning 1am, and it was loud. Doesn’t the city have an ordinance for this? And the restaurant closed on the 4th due to staffing issues.
The location was great and the rooms were satisfactory. But you really didn't have a place to dine. The restaurant was only open from 4:00 to 9:00 there was no breakfast and no lunch. Just dinner
Everything was perfect from check in till check out
Personal molt atent. Bona ubicació
Fantastic location. Comfortable room
Hallways were a little musty and they could have used a second server at breakfast. Only one person working to serve way too many people.
La ubicación
Que no tiene suficiente parking
Very nice walkable location. Staff was very nice
The location was great. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in (and I stay in approx 180 nights in hotels a year)
Stayed 5 nights.
The staff was unhelpful and borderline rude. Particularly Kat.
She charged me for the room that I had already paid for through booking.com. when I said I'd paid when booking, she said no and
(Was resolved the next day). The key card she gave wasn't coded for the door.
The desk chair sank when I sat on it, making the online meetings I had scheduled difficult.
Cleaning staff brought only half the towels, and didn't change bedding even though we left the placard on the bed and asked cleaning staff directly. They did make the bed though.
I chose Hotel Rose as it was convenient to a show I was attending. The location is perfect for the waterfront and very close to public transit. The rooms were clean and the beds with the fluffy duvets, you just sink into! What made this stay above and beyond was the friendly staff and vibe of the hotel. From the time I walked in everyone had a smile. Joanne especially was friendly and went out of her way to make my stay feel special. They also have a great restaurant and bar on site.
This is a great location with excellent staff who are very agreeable and helpful. The rooms are clean and the bed comfortable and we easily recommend this hotel
