Place was located centrally to what we wanted to do.
The hotel was easy to find and park at ( for a fee), great central location for an overnight stay and visit together the feel of this city. Clean rooms, pleasant staff, a complimentary drink of your choice from the fridge ( no bar of note). Good choice for a central overnight stay, probably a bit cramped for a longer stay?
We’ve stayed at the Hotel Rose about half a dozen times now, and it never disappoints. The location is wonderful, with easy access to the MAX, Tom McCall Waterfront Park, and downtown shops, so getting around Portland is easy. The service has been fantastic every time; the staff consistently go above and beyond. Special shoutout to Luz and the front desk team, especially Joanne, who went out of her way to make sure we got the exact room and view we wanted.
A few small things to note: the hallways look a little dated, the rooms don’t have microwaves, and parking is limited. None of that has stopped us from coming back though. Between the unbeatable location and the level of service, it’s become our go-to whenever we’re in Portland. Highly recommend.
Convenient location, dog friendly
Lobby, hallways and the restaurant all looked tired, they could use some refreshing
It was fine, nothing was outstanding, I got what I paid for.
Top/ 5th floor was still getting loud traffic from the street.
The hotel claims to love to have pets, which we brought. Pets need to go for walks and we pickup their mess with the provided bags the hotel provided, however, there are no garbage cans anywhere outside or in the lobby to put the bags in once full.
The staff were all personable and helpful. We felt welcome immediately. The location is stellar and we had a beautiful view of the river. The pineapple theme is cute. Mattress was comfortable and the room was clean. I love the fillable water bottle and the complimentary drink upon arrival!
Only two negatives, which wouldn’t impact our staying here again at all, but I’ll share them. The first is that there’s no top sheet or thin blanket, so your only option is to have a super thick comforter or nothing. The second was the lack of water pressure in the shower. I thought I was doing something wrong with the nozzle because the trickle was so light, but no, it was just a trickle. Again…not big things. But maybe things to know if you run hot at night or have a lot of hair to wash!
The staff were genuinely really nice to talk to and gave good recommendations about the area close by for food. The room was clean and bedding was really comfortable
Location is good. Close to pretty much anywhere that a tourist would need and want. Can’t deny that.
Some of the staffs were super kind but there were some people that quite surprised me to the extent that i suspect if this is so called “micro aggression.” Im still surprised this happened non other place but Portland where welcoming diversity is emphasized.
Great downtown location. Very reasonable parking and pet fees, especially if you go for the park and bark special.
Bed linen
Parking
Horrible. No hot water. They lost our reservation. Room had strange noises so no one slept all night. Rude staff
Very comfortable room, staff were lovely. Lots of nice touches as a welcome to the hotel.
Wonderful staff, especially Kennedy - he seems to be everywhere and doing everything! Well kept and clean facilities and room. Bed was very soft - so if you like soft then great, if not ... not so great. Location good for access to public transit (on the RED MAX light rail line), walkable to some areas (day time as night a bit sketchy), right by the waterfront.
I seriously question that mandatory $25/day resort fee. The Hotel says it prevents the nickle/dime-ing but what you get is ... a cookie, one free beverage ($4 non alcoholic and a bit more for alcoholic beverage), a free take home water bottle with their logo (which is great but is also a marketing tool for them). You also receive 'free' streaming services and access to small fitness center which I neither needed nor used. So, I'm REALLY REALLY not happy about this mandatory fee and it really sours the overall experience.
