I arrived at Maison Dupuy in New Orleans on March 23, 2026, in the mid-afternoon. The staff were welcoming, and I asked for a quiet room with a nice view. I was given Room 312 on the 3rd floor.
The room had a beautiful view of the hotel's traditional restored courtyard, with trees and a pool below. It was fairly large and featured French doors leading to a balcony overlooking the courtyard. The room had a large bed, a flat-screen TV, and a nice bathroom. The décor was traditional, attractive, clean, and comfortable.
Housekeeping was excellent, with the room serviced each day. I left daily tips and an additional tip on my last day.
The hotel was perfectly situated in the French Quarter on Toulouse Street, yet on a quiet section of the street. It was easy to walk to Bourbon Street, St. Louis Cathedral, and Canal Street. After spending the day exploring New Orleans and visiting the many attractions, it was always nice to return to an excellent traditional hotel and a comfortable room.
The entire vacation experience was wonderful, and I enjoyed seeing the sights, including excursions to Oak Alley Plantation, the Garden District, and Tulane University. The front desk gave terrific advice for sights and tours, especially C. Herbert.
The weather in New Orleans was in the low 80s, with plenty of sunshine. The vegetation was beautiful, especially in Audubon Park.
Many beautiful pictures and lasting memories were made during this outstanding vacation.
Will not be returning. Curtains were dirty carpet dirty ac did not work until the last day no fridge or microwave in room pool not open in the middle of may. Pool was green (water)
The room and staff were great, but the air conditioning was out. It was so hot in our room, and the hotel does not have enough fans for everyone who would need one if that were to happen again. Otherwise, everything was great.
The hotel hacked my debit card. A few days after we checked out we started getting a bunch of large charges from them on my debit card. I had to cancel my card and the hotel has been no help in resolving.
We checked in late in the evening on 2/9. Desk clerk told us breakfast was 7:30-10:30 a.m. in the bar/restaurant. Nope. The bar/restaurant has been closed since we arrived. No warning on website. Staff speak sheepishly of cutbacks due to renovation. The doorman has disappeared. What's going on here?
Location location! Two blocks from Bourbon Street. The hotel staff were very nice. But the hotel use some upkeep. Room was damp the whole time, heat was not working at all. The maintenance guy came to check on it and said he would be back but never came back.also the pool was dirty.
Charming rooms and exceptionally friendly staff! I'd highly recommend getting a balcony - it was comfortable during the day but also perfect for the random jazz band that came down the street one evening! The only downside was no microwave to reheat leftovers from the many amazing places to eat!
Great location.
Old, mildewy rooms that are in desperate need of remodeling.
What was once a vibrant, fun, hotel with a great bar is now a broken down old version of something that was once a great find.
You'll have to reset your keycards daily, too! Incredibly frustrating.
The general manager, the front desk, and the valet attendant could not have been more helpful and accommodating! Thank you, especially to Leslie, the General Manager.
If you are looking for the feel of New Orleans this is a good choice. Charming and quiet. Walking distance to a variety of locations. The carriage house is a great choice for couples.
This hotel does not have good working heating and air conditioning. I was there during a cold snap and the room had a fake control the led me to believe I was setting the heat to 70 degrees. I only found out in the evening that the control did not work, and the engineer that was sent up explained (in a very convoluted way) that it was impossible to use heating during the day and air conditioning for sleeping at night. I have never seen a hotel where this was the case and there is no way I would stay here again.
If you're just looking for a place to rest your head at night that is conveniently located next to Bourbon Street, then sure this place fits the bill. However, if cleanliness bothers you then exercise caution.
Cleanliness: Surface level clean, but the details show a lack of deep cleaning (faucets, door handles, musty smells, mysterious stains on couches).
Noise: Just far enough from Bourbon to avoid the noise and commotion. However, during the day the noise from rowdiness in the courtyard/pool is noticeable. Staff didn't care to address, but I suppose it's fair game for a place like this.
Staff: Very kind, especially for below mentioned issue.
We learned day 1 that our tub was clogged badly. While trying to use the room phone we found out our phone was severely outdated, with several buttons missing, making us unable to phone the front desk. We went downstairs to tell staff the issue same day. When we got back that night, we saw someone went into the room to try to address it, but it was not fixed. Day 2, we went downstairs again to alert staff. This time it was fixed same day and staff actually called us personally to inform us the issue was resolved.
Location and staff
Rooms need upgrading bad
Can't say I liked to much at all. Literally everything was bare minimum.
Bathroom leaking above us into our bathroom. Over charge of valet parking. The shower had no shower curtain. The bathtub had no working water stopper. The bathroom was terribly small. Overall just uncomfortable.
Location and layout of the property
The beautiful pool was not cleaned and full of algae.
Friend and I stayed here 2 nights prior to a cruise departing the New Orleans port. I found this hotel on line so it's hard to know what to expect. Yes the hotel is very old and may be a bit tired, but the charm, ambiance and close proximity to Bourbon Street makes up for it. The hotel has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. There is a restaurant/bar off the lobby, an open courtyard with lots of seating and a pool. We had a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the courtyard and pool area. Our priority was to be near Bourbon Street ... and that it was. So the 2 of us ladies walking alone in the evening made us feel secure with the proximity. We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast each morning (extra charge) in the restaurant. Our room was a very good size with the only thing missing was a mini fridge. It did have a coffee maker. This hotel served us well and both of said we would be happy to stay here again.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable.
AC was not adjustable and room was warmer than preferred.
The bathrooms are falling apart and the air conditioning does not keep up, even when it's 73 outside. The tub stays filled for 5-7 minutes after a quick shower. I visited other rooms of our party and they are all similarly unkept.
Good location. Room quite spacious
Facilties not great. Gym tiny, lacking equipment, pool green and then not in use, bathroom dated and hadnt been cleaned well, chewing gum on floor next to bin
