Superb location with great views. Hotel fully refurbished. Very helpful reception staff. Only thing missing in room was a box of facial tissues. Expensive for a full sea view but well worth it.
Executive suite view is stunning. Very comfortable rooms; plentiful hot water but we found the showers slightly too powerful. Extremely friendly, welcoming staff both in reception, housekeeping and restaurant.
Just 2 suggestions:
- more sunshades in garden (we were there in a heatwave - yes, in Wales!)
- a reminder to guests to close the quaint lift doors after use. I had to chase it up/down floors several times for my sister with mobility issues.
Had a wonderful , relaxing stay in a charming hotel in a beautiful location.
Thnk you to all the team.
Very comfortable stay. Despite the heat wave. Beautifully clean and well appointed . Staff all very welcoming and friendly. Look forward to visiting again.
very happy with breakfast, would assume all produce were locally sourced, all very tasty.
Bonus that it was cooked to each individual person.
Our only negative would be, we stayed while the weather was extreme heat but you had no air-con in rooms , we were
on the top floor so a little uncomfortable + not enough umbrellas in the garden area for us to enjoy a drink.
Enjoyable stay, hotel needs to rethink about air-con.
Location, service, quiet
Very hot
Food was very good. Staff were very nice and friendly
Room was small, expensive and there was no fan available in exceptionally hot weather. Room was very uncomfortable to sleep in
This was my third stay in this beautiful hotel. The welcome,, courtesy and care is outstanding.
The standard of housekeeping is very high.
Towels, bedlinen and the bed, all superb, I highly recommend this hotel and congratulate management. Many thanks.
The location of the hotel is superb for its views which range from the mountains, across Cardigan Bay and to the castle. The beach is just across the road from the hotel.
The atmosphere was mostly very relaxing and it was lovely to hear the waves coming onto the shore. Our room was large with a large bay window, it had all that we needed. I was very impressed with the shower which had plenty of hot water and had a powerful force. All areas of the hotel were very clean and there are plenty of areas to sit in the various lounges. There is an outside seating area where we could sit during fine weather.
All the staff were very friendly, welcoming and professional, in fact they were superb. The meals were excellent for both breakfast and dinner with the waiting time for our meals kept to a minimum. There is a secure parking area at the back of the hotel for which there is a daily charge of £5.
I do not know if it made a difference that we stayed at the weekend but locals are allowed to use the bar and although they sat in the gardens they were very loud and drunk, it could have been worse if they had stayed in the bar area which was below our room. We had to shut our windows because of their drunken loudness. Unfortunately on one occasion we were kept awake until 2.30 am by drunken guests of the hotel who were mixing with the locals on the green opposite the hotel and when they returned to the hotel they mistakenly tried to enter our room ! Other guests were disturbed as well. There is no night porter and on enquiring who I should telephone if such an occurrence happened again I was told to telephone the hotels number.
Wonderful stay, stunning views. Clean peaceful and tidy with lovely decor particularly downstairs
The breakfast was excellent with lots of different choices. The girls serving were excellent and well trained to be polite, welcoming and unobtrusive. Bed was very comfortable. Views spectacular. Hotel was quiet and restful. Evening meal also excellent.
If I'm being picky! Sheets had strong smelling detergent which I didn't like. Decor in bedrooms a bit old fashioned possibly.
The location of the hotel could not of better...waking up to the sight of the ocean and the night time view of Criccieth Castle.. floodlight... lovely... Staff are very friendly and welcoming.. Absolute Respect... Dinner and breakfast was super quality served in a tranquil setting.... Highly recommended.. Gordon.. room 24
No complaints
Ontbijt was prima. Veel opties. Personeel was vriendelijk maar wat geresereerd en soms wat onhandig. Overall best ok.
Kamers klein, bed klein en oncomfortabel.
Caerwylan Hotel Criccieth in a super location with stunning views of the castle and the ocean.. Arranged a couple of nights stay. Room 24 on the second floor was allocated no complaints brilliant views .. oh apart from the toilet facilities.. Senior and being partial disabled with pending knee surgery. Getting off the toilet was an absolute nightmare with no grab rails..The lift was small but fine.. allegedly it holds four people.. Not a chance! Sincere thanks to Elan on reception.. Welcoming and friendly staff in the restaurant Neah & Cali deserves a mention.. Respect.. Dinner and breakfast very nice... So! The main question would we recommend or return.. The answer is yeah... just sort some grab rails in the toilet... (Gordon)
We had another lovely and enjoyable stay at the Caerwylan Hotel. Our room was very comfortable and had wonderful views of the bay. We had a very good breakfast every day, with lots of choice and well-cooked hot options. The two evening meals we had in the restaurant were delicious. All of the staff were professional, friendly and unfailingly helpful. We will be back!
A lovely four star family run hotel overlooking the sea.
