Categories

Cleanliness
7.6
Mixed signals: several guests explicitly called the hotel 'lovely and clean', but there are notable negatives — a guest reported a grubby/old room, and another described chlorine odor and fungal growth in pool equipment impacting lobby/bar areas.
Service
9.2
Generally excellent: multiple mentions of friendly, efficient and amazing staff from front desk to restaurant; only minor service gaps noted (no airport shuttle, limited breakfast explanation).
Location
9.2
Very strong: many guests highlight the central location, proximity to train/station and town, and quiet despite being close to everything.
Room Quality
7.8
Mixed: several guests praised spacious, comfortable and warm rooms, but others reported aged or unrenovated/grubby rooms, poor lighting, a hole by wiring and AC/ventilation issues in some rooms.
Amenities
8.3
Generally positive: pool, spa, sauna, steam room, ice bath and bar are frequently praised; however, concerns about strong chlorine smell, pool hygiene (fungus, broken floaters) and limited sunbeds reduce the score slightly.
Value for Money
7.6
Mixed to slightly below expectations: some guests felt all categories only 'served their purpose' and one said it was a poor choice compared to their usual; parking was noted as expensive and breakfast was average for some.
Food and Beverage
8.5
Mostly positive: buffet breakfast and dining are praised by several guests as excellent, though there are isolated negative incidents (prawns causing sickness for two guests, and some guests found breakfast service lacking).
Overall Experience
9
Overall favourable: multiple 'lovely stay', 'very satisfied' and 'amazing' comments indicate strong overall sentiment, tempered by a few serious negatives (unclean/old room for one guest, pool hygiene issues) for some visitors.

The staff were so professional and friendly. Great stay
Pros:

Great location, lovely spa and facilities and amazing staff

Cons:

Room was dated and had furniture that was previously included has been removed. Small details like missing bathroom light fittings with bulbs exposed and shower doors which didn’t close properly as the hinges were aged. Overall the hotel is great but some refurbishing would go a looong way
