Ein angenehmer Aufenthalt im Hotel Mercure.
Pros:

Super Lage/Ausgangspunkt zu Sehenswürdigkeiten. Sehr nettes Personal am Empfang, vor allem Frau Anna :-).

Die Zimmer sind von der Ausstattung her etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Wenig Platz um Kleider/Dinge aufhängen zu können.

Location and Breakfast are great points. Room and facilities quality less so!!
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices for many palates. Staff were very helpful at front of house. Main congregation areas were clean and tidy and offered a relaxing atmosphere. Location at the top of the main hills was perfect for getting around especially to the main shopping centre and rail station.

Cons:

The hotel class was suggested as being a 4*. Which for me fell well short of this accolade comparing to what I'd expect from a room in the UK. The rooms were very basic and the tea/coffee facilities were some of the poorest I've come across. Only two sachets of milk per day were left and all in to used through cardboard cups. Proper crockery should really be available with fresh milk sachets stored in the fridge. It was strange to have the only sink in the main bedroom and not in the bathroom. Something we were not keen on. Hygienically this wasn't ideal.

A Hotel with a Great Location
Pros:

The location was perfect — very close to paid hotel parking and within walking distance of everything. Our room had a beautiful view of the church, and iconic spots like the Dom Luís Bridge, the stunning tiled São Bento Railway Station, shops, restaurants, and cafés were all just steps away.

What truly made the stay special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming, always greeting guests with a smile. A special thank you to Selma, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

Cons:

Lot of traffic around the elevator!

Good location as a home base to explore Porto.
Pros:

Location was close to the train station (although up a very big hill) and walkable or a short Bolt ride to everywhere we wanted to go. Breakfast was as expected, slightly overpriced but good. Staff were excellent with information and suggestions. Room was spacious.

Cons:

Bed was hard and uncomfortable. Floors in the bathroom were very slippery tile and the water pressure in the shower wasn't great, most of the water flowed out of the tap not the shower head.
