Friendly staff, good location
Very uncomfortable bed
A lot of mess, dirty plate left outside my room when we just arrived (after 8pm in the evening)
Towels, old and freyed, need replacing
The place generally looks run down and not well maintained.
TV system from the early 2000s
Very central location. Lovely room with air con which was needed. Had a bar so we were able to get a drink after our gig. Also breakfast was offered at extra cost. The staff was very helpful.
This hotel was expensive. Also we couldn't get hot water in our bathroom.
Location to city centre
The outside looking
Noise, cleanliness, room service (food)
Friendly staff. Perfect location. Good sized rooms.
Car park terrible. Doesn’t feel safe and so narrow. Miracle I don’t scuff my car. Water was only warm not hot. Breakfast average.
Perfectly located & very comfortable
Nothing of anything really.
This hotel should be avoided at all costs. We booked it as it is 5 minutes walk to The Beacon where we had tickets for a gig. We imagined The "Grand" would be just fine. Not cheap and we booked months ahead only to be shown a room on the 4th floor where, quite frankly, you wouldn't put a dog. Marks on the walls, bed pressed up against the wall and an "en suite" with a stained bath and basin and a shower curtain over the bath that was half hanging off the rail. We complained to reception who eventually agreed us to a room that was marginally better on the 3rd floor. Reception area is ratty too. Threadbare and split fabric on the settees. Never again.
Located in heart of Bristol
I have stayed here a few times over time but this time I have been so disappointed!! The hotel is scruffy really tired ! Only one lift working in a busy hotel like this and having read other reviews the lift situation has been going on for over a month! Huge yellow stain on carpet in room !
Just really needs a good clean and spruce up! Windows rattle like drums ! We didn't have breakfast thankfully looking at the reviews;
The location and the aesthetics it was a lovely building.
The bed was very hard and so were the pillows.
Location
Staffs attitude towards our issues was very blasé, room wasn’t clean, and lots of ants inside, staff promised to rectify while we were out but didn’t do anything, amongst other issues with the room, I feel like I overpaid heavily for the room despite booking a good while in advance.
Excellent location with everything Bristol has to offer in walking distance. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Lovely restaurant/bar attached to the lobby, nice air con in this blistering heat also!!
The £20 charge for early check-in when the room was already cleaned and ready.
The room was tired and in need of an upkeep...
It was also not very clean with a cracked wash hand basin and dirty taps
