We loved it! We got married there 16 years ago and decided to stay a night to celebrate our anniversary! They gave us a free upgrade to a king suite in the tower! It was more than we needed!
Black mold in the corners of the showers! I know it's hard to get rid of once it starts, but I did not expect to see it.
The ice machines have not worked in months
The facility was like a motel not a hotel. My niece and sister did not feel safe and checked out and we to a safer hotel.
The motel 6 vibe.
Parking was easy and free. The bed was comfortable. Lots of towels.
The room ac was very loud and never turned off. It was either freezing or you had to shut down the unit. The water pressure was terrible and the shower head was so filled with hard water it barely sprayed.
We paid for breakfast. They said that since it was slow season you had to order from a sit down menu. On the face of it, that sounds great. When we got to the restaurant, we were told we can only order one entre and one drink.
We had to ask for cookies and unless you were a Hilton honors member there was no wifi. They also tried to charge us $3 for a bottle of water that was in our room. No more Doubletree for me.
I have stayed at this property several times. The last time was about seven years ago. The property has declined. I could not get the air conditioning to properly cool the room, making skeeping difficult. There was no screen on the door to the patio. The weather stripping was absent from the door's bottom. Light and insects could enter the room. Over the course of my two night stay, I killed four cockroaches and saw several other cockroaches. The cockroaches were very large. The check in and checkout process was efficient. When I told Sam at check-out regarding the cockroaches, she was extremely apologetic.
The experience at the Hilton was exceptionally pleasant: the front desk staff was always helpful and receptive and the accommodations were superb -- quiet and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent as well.
It was disappointing that the attractive Lobby Lounge was not open -- except as a spillover area for the hotel's comfortable main bar, the Javelina -- which never happened.
The handicapped parking area across from the hotel's main entrance needs better lighting. I was walking to my car in the dark Friday night, May 22, and unavoidably tripped on one of the invisible concrete parking blocks, situated between the front of the cars and the curb of a grassy area. The resultant violent head-first tumble resulted in a five-hour visit to Banner University Medical Center, a CT Scan, numerous stitches in my forehead and left eyebrow, a broken bone in my nose, two dislocated fingers, a possible concussion, two black eyes and lingering aches and pains throughout my 79-year-old body. I might say, however, that the front desk clerk did a wonderful job ministering to me and my wounds until the EMTs arrived, which she had called. I commend her calmness and professional handling of the situation.
All was great!! all though breakfast should be included, but overall great location and staff
all though breakfast should be included
Close to our venue
Took too long at there restaurant to be served dinner
Good location for attending college graduation at university. Many restaurants within short driving distance
Rooms in the tower could not be accessed unless going through the lobby. There was a stairwell to the outside parking lot, which would have been much closer for walking, but the electronic access was broken. Our room was right off of the stairwell for exiting to our car—but we could not use when returning. Also disappointing to not have a microwave in the room.
We only stayed for one night but will absolutely consider this hotel next time we visit our daughter at the UofA.
The location is a short and easy 10-minute drive to campus. On the way, you pass a Target, Walmart, and Trader Joe's, which makes it incredibly convenient to pick up anything needed for your Wildcat. Additionally, Reid Park is right across the street, so you don't even need to drive anywhere if you want to go running or golfing.
The rooms themselves were spacious, and the pool area had plenty of space along with a cozy hot tub. I was also highly impressed with the fitness center, which features a Peloton bike and plenty of room for floor exercises.
The staff was super friendly, and a special shoutout goes to Sam for being so welcoming. We did not try out the breakfast, but the menu looked interesting and reasonably priced. There is also an on-site restaurant with a great evening happy hour.
We highly recommend this hotel!
