The high rise king suite was nice with a great view of the city
Staff is great.
Shuttle wasn’t available twice a day which happened to be when I needed to go to MD Anderson.
The floor in the room was not clean or recently vacuumed. I dropped a contact on the floor. I couldn’t see it so J turned the spot light on my phone only to reveal corn kernels, pieces of bubble gum wrappers, lint / dust, gritty to walk on.
The shower turned on full speed took over five minutes before I had very hot water.
We booked this hotel to have a place to stay while helping our son move into college nearby. This is our son's second year and we are trying to find a nice, reliable place to stay. This is a nice hotel but there are some issues:
1) No ice available. There is a note in our room that said we can request ice from the front desk. We called the front desk to request ice but after waiting a while, my husband got tired of waiting and went to the lobby looking for the ice, which he got from the bartender. We called to cancel the ice from the front desk to which the front desk personnel said there were no more ice available.
2) Sheer curtains. Our room was located right above the lovely bar area but the curtains were too sheer! You could see right through the curtains. Very unusual. Good thing there weren't people around in the bar area below us.
3) Clogged sink. Our sink was clogged, somehow it got stuck (we did not cause the clog, it was already that way) and we couldn't properly drain the water.
We were staying only one night and it was getting too late so we just stayed in the assigned room and was glad to leave the next morning. After we checked out, we were followed up with a text from the management team to see how our visit went, which was a nice gesture. I proceeded to explain our situation about the lack of ice available at that hotel location and I added to say that if there is a service to receive ice from the front desk, there should actually have ice available, otherwise that is false advertising. I was offended by the management when it seemed like the management did not understand my side of the situation. It was 100 degrees in Houston and after a long day of moving my son into school, we were hot and wanted an ice cold beverage. There was no ice in the ice machine in the 10th floor where we were staying.
Next time, I better just ask for another room or look for another place to stay.
