Five star weekend thanks to great staff!
Pros:

Wonderful weekend! Small problem with AC that was fixed by 8am next morning. Breakfast and massage top notch. Special shout out to Estele for going above and beyond with room service. Front desk super responsive and beds very comfortable. Some of these reviews gave me pause but this was truly a five star hotel with five star staff. Happily will stay here again and again!!

Lovely experience
Pros:

The high tea was excellent. The tea choices were great and the dainty sandwiches and pastries were delicious. Soft piano music and dainty China cups created a wonderful atmosphere. Attentive service . A beautiful experience with the cost .

Decent but I was underwhelmed.
Pros:

The bed was very comfortable

Cons:

The bathroom was very small and not much of a sitting area for a king size room. The television was appointed over the desk which I found to be off putting.

Nice romantic weekend.
Pros:

The hotel history tour was wonderful. Staff was extremely nice and the high tea was magical.

Cons:

Food was way over priced. It was very difficult to receive service in the Atrium. We waited a long time to get service, our food and especially the bill.

High Tea - Expensive but enjoyable
Pros:

We booked for high tea at Brown's and had a great experience. It's expensive but the food and service was very good. I enjoyed the scones the most. The sandwiches were great. The other smaller cakes were lovely but very sweet.

Very busy and a huge tourist magnet. I recommend your book a table.

Make sure you check to see if you got the room that you booked and they don’t put you in one of the older rooms!
Pros:

The building is impressive and so is the history.

Cons:

We were not given the room that we booked and were given an older room that was not renovated. It wasn’t until I mentioned it hours after checking in to the front desk that they moved us to the correct room. Then the room that they “upgraded” us to had a door that you had to practically jam open and shut. It was very upsetting that this wouldn’t be addressed unless I said something. I called the manager of the properties to make them aware of what happened and of course I never heard back. Thanks Sam at front desk for helping us.

Historic gem
Pros:

Historic hotel – great location, walking distance from many restaurants. About 30+ min from Denver airport. Room always kept clean. Amenities include mini-fridge and coffee maker. No microwave. Bed was very comfortable. Nice closet space. They have smaller meeting rooms on the 2nd floor (check out the website to hear the story about each room) – the ballrooms are located across the skybridge at the Holiday Inn Express but you’d never know b/c the look/feel matches the Brown Palace. Staff are very nice. They have water stations on every floor but I think ice machines only every other floor. Lots of famous people stayed here – one of my colleagues stayed in the “Unsinkable Molly” room! And of course the hotel is also famous for welcoming the National Western Stock Show’s Grand Champion Steer into its beautiful atrium for the last 80+ years!

No. Just no.
Pros:

I booked for a weekend get away for my husband’s birthday and our wedding anniversary. I booked, and paid for a king room. I booked at both restaurants, we even foolishly tipped the man who checked us in hoping for anything special they could provide. What an unbelievable waste of money and time.
Our room was teeny with a queen bed. The man at check in didn’t even bother to tell us we couldn’t get the king bed I booked and paid for.

*I think if we hadn’t contacted them upon our arrival to the room they would have happily kept the money I paid for the king room!*

No air conditioning, no ventilation, and no bathroom fan. It was a sweltering box and that was in May. I would avoid this place like the plague in summer.

They kept telling us “we are overbooked” as an excuse as to why I didn’t get what I paid for. I’m sorry, HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?? HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW HOW MANY ROOM YOU HAVE WITH KING BEDS??

Don’t book the freaking reservation if you don’t have the room available. Such a scam by this hotel.
They are riding on their name and happy to screw guests because what does it cost them? Hopefully anyone else’s business if I can help it.

ABSOLUTELY not worth the exorbitant rates. Don’t even get me started on how much the valet costs!!

I guess they hope they can distract customers with the elegance of the lobby, so while you are looking around they can screw you and ruin your special occasions.

We checked out a day early, they were fast and furious with the food vouchers and the hotel did reimburse us the valet fees for our trouble.

Don’t bother
Pros:

When told they allowed pets, we were thrilled. They told us there was a pet deposit that would be refunded if there was no damage. There is no damage, but because someone complained about the dog barking, they refused to give us the damage deposit back. A bunch of really brilliant people to go knock on the door…only to make the dog bark. Never mind the party being thrown across the hall. Don’t have a pet policy if you don’t want pets there. And also train your staff not to be a-holes to their guests. Pathetic prices for such a crappy room.
