disappointed with deposit that wasn't disclosed in the app

surprizingly big room

Cons:

I chose this motel over another property because the other motel explicitly disclosed its security deposit requirement during booking.

This reservation was prepaid and non-refundable. After arrival, I was unexpectedly told that a $50 deposit was required. I reviewed the booking details, policies, and confirmation and found no mention of this deposit.

If a mandatory deposit is required to receive the room, it should be disclosed before payment. Hiding an additional requirement until check-in is unacceptable, especially for a non-refundable reservation.

The room also had maintenance issues. The bathroom light was flickering throughout my stay.

I would not have chosen this property if the deposit requirement had been disclosed before booking.

The room was comfortable and clean.

Cons:

When we arrived, we were met with a not so friendly young man. There were what appeared to be homeless people walking around outside, there was a musty smell in the lobby and in the hallway. The ice machine was not working and my husband went to tell the clerk and he said it must be recycling, but didn't offer to come check. Not a huge deal but they're was not a coffee maker in the room but I do believe there was some in the lobby. The remote to the TV was not working well. The room however was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room cost us $135 and there was a $50 deposit which we were told we would get back when we came down the next day to check out, we were then told it will take 3 to 5 days to get the $50 back which I thought was ridiculous. We will not be staying again

The pool was not open with no prior advisement, no breakfast service yet everything was set up for one. Front desk advised closest entry was on the opposite end of my room location instead of the entry closest to my room, did not have plates or forks for guest use, TV was unplugged from TV not outlet, shower smelled awful, no hairdryer in room.

Pros:

Room was clean. Wifi was good. Beds sheets, pillows and blankets were clean and in excellent condition. The microwave and refrigerator worked well too.

Cons:

There wasn't a TV channel guide. Only gave us 30 extra minutes for a late checkout request.

Right next to a shelter and a creepy graveyard

The room was clean

Cons:

The staff was a little intense. Corporate was there was was flat out rude and mean. The whole hotel was under renovation but didn't let us know ahead of time and so when we asked for a discount they said "it's already cheap deal with it". Because if the recivation nine if the amenities like pool or breakfast were available. Also it was right next to a creepy graveyard lol.
