Carsarra was awesome. She was able to assist us with an emergency. She has excellent customer service.
I picked this Hilton due to its location on Michigan Avenue and proximity to local attractions like the Shedd Aquarium and the Northerly Island Pavilion. The 146 bus route took us right to the museum campus area. It is also close to the red line train. Our room was on the 25th floor and we could even see the lake and Buckingham Fountain. We loved staying here and would definitely return.
The hotel is amazing and the staff is so wonderful. Had a great experience with Ernestine as she assisted me with an issue I had and made everything right.
Great experience overall at this hotel and amazing gym!
FILTHY DISGUSTING DIRTY OLD HOTEL. HAD TO CHANGE ROOMS MULTIPLE TIMES. We're Hilton Diamond Hyatt Globalist and Marriott Platinum... we travel extensively for work and vacation. After my third room change, we upgraded me to a premium suite premium suite. Absolutely disgusting, carpet, the doors and walls nicked and damaged.. The bathroom had been modestly upgraded from the disgusting bathtubs that the other rooms had nonetheless. It was still dingy and brown, but the bed was a Murphy bed in a premium suite. I'm sleeping two inches off the floor in a bed that folds out of a wall onto a carpet that looks like it is about thirty five years old. There's not one thing in this hotel that feels clean. The elevators shake and rattle the interior dwarfs in the elevator look like people threw coffee and or vomited. The first room I had was on the executive level. It was a two two queen bad two bathroom... Filthy, gross. It smelled extensively like rose perfume hair in the bathtub... switch to the second bedroom, which, unfortunately.
The bathroom smelled like a rundown gas station, men's urinal.. To which I was put into the premium suite, which is essentially a mattress on the floor no box spring, just a bed that folds out of the wall. This entire place is filthy. It is gross.. Do not stay here.It is by far the worst hilton.I have ever stayed at. I'd rather stay at a rundown Motel 6 in the middle
Of an undesirable neighborhood, as I think that would be cleaner
Pictures included are the door to the upgraded premium suite and the interior
This Hilton has a beautiful, well kept facility! It was immaculate, it had a great variety of equipment to choose from and Amy at the front desk was very attentive and kind. I had a great workout and I will definitely be back! I’ve been to hundreds of Hilton properties around the country and this is by far the best gym facility I’ve encountered.
Currently I am staying at the Hilton on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. On Sunday the wheelchair lift froze with me on it, suspended above the pool. For 45 minutes 2 engineers and 2 security worked to get the lift to move. It finally lowered me into the pool. There was no alternative plan to help a disabled person get out of the pool.
Most pools have a body board to put in the pool to put a person on the board and then slide person to the pool deck. My husband had to get in the pool and lift me up the stairs. A very difficult task! The pool staff is not trained in alternative supports.
There was no accommodation from hotel staff.
Last Friday, I rented a power chair from Midwest Mobility. No one on Hilton staff knew where it was. My husband was told to check the Fed Ex area several times a day, everyday, no chair! No one of staff was informed of other locations on site where it might be located.
On Monday I called the wheelchair vendor.
He was told it was in Bellman area on the lower level. NO ONE ever mentioned this site to locate the chair. I paid a lot of money to rent the chair, not to be able to use it for the first 4 days of my visit because your staff is not trained to let guests know where
to find rentals.
Out of all the bellmen I encountered, front desk staff, no staff knew how to help me find the power chair I rented.
With July being National Disability Month,
Hilton fails to offer disability amenities that are needed to make a disabled guest feel welcome.
This has been a very disappointing stay.
I will share my experiences with disabled acquaintances in hopes that no one else has similar unpleasant experiences.
We mainly chose it for the Michigan Ave location which is why it was worth the price. Staff were polite and helpful. The hotel is a charming historic building with great atmosphere. Cleanliness expectations were met, it would be ridiculous if they were not given this hotel’s price tag and reputation.
Not much to dislike other than the size of the hot tub which I thought were too small.
Friendly staff. Helpful with arranging rides
No changes. Room a little expensive.
Going to stay here again and again. Rates this good for a gorgeous, well maintained historical, clean hotel as near as this one is to so many iconic Chicago destinations makes it a clear choice. We shopped on State St, walked to the river and to the lakefront, walked home safe and secure after our Sat night concert at Northerly Island, But the thing that made me leave 5 stars was EVERY single parson we interacted with on staff was beyond friendly, they were actually eager to help. Danny at front desk made me feel personally wanted as a guest, Shaquan the Bellman was handling a busy taxi line with a huge smile and took time to hold the front door open for me anyways. Also the housekeeper and security (I have no names) were all smiles and “can I show you anything?” and “have a great day today!” After so many of these interactions I was so impressed with this impressive hotel. Definitely worth the trip
Yet another excellent experience with Hilton Chicago. Misoon Kong and her staff are superb. Thanks again to all of them.
This gorgeous, historic hotel provided a pleasurable stay! We enjoyed our room, the delicious breakfast buffet, and incredible service by a very attentive staff. We especially andored our housekeeper, Claudie, who was very sweet and helpful! Our room was pristine!
Room was very nice. Parking costs too much. Addons, taxes, fees pushed a $327 room to $491 including parking.
lower parking costs, Reduction of fees or room rent.
Front desk staff was rude because I booked thru booking.com
great hotel-just watch out for the vultures selling Hilton time shares
