Great place to stay for being in downtown Billings. Walkable neighborhood.
The parking garage to hotel transition did not go smoothly. Half a staircase with a suitcase when I got lost.
We don’t usually make reservations in 5 star hotels, however, we were in town for the Blue Angels air show and thought we’d make it a special weekend. We weren’t disappointed. The Northern, built in 1902, will be celebrating their 125th anniversary next year and the hotel looks the part. Every staff member we encountered was cordial and welcoming. The king bed in our room was comfortable with a choice of pillows which allowed each of us to find one to suit our preference. The complimentary morning coffee (available by the front desk) was delicious! On top of everything, the Blue Angels pilots and support crew were also guests of the Northern for the weekend.
Love the location, great parking, clean and close to everything. Nice bar.

Boutique hotel in a gritty western town

They went out of their way to accommodate a late next day arrival. This is something almost no other hotel would do. They also accommodated our special room request and brought a small refrigerator to our room. In addition, they have valet parking as a part of your total package at no additional cost.
This hotel was beautiful and high end. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The food was good. The gym was one of the best hotel gyms. The free valet was another plus.

The Northern has the perfect location for downtown activity, including the Saturday Farmers Market. The parking garage is also very convenient and easily accessible.
Again, it's hard to charge your devices with the broken usb in the lamps. In order to charge your phone, you need a prong adapter for all of your devices.
Staff was friendly and location was great for enjoying a show at the pub.
In the morning something idling? made the room smell like exhaust. Disappointed to not have in room coffee (though the coffee in the lobby was good, but I like a cup first thing!)
