Pros:

L’accueil et le service exceptionnel.

Cons:

Nous avions une chambre pour 3 personnes. Le lit double était parfait mais le lit simple inconfortable. Notre chambre donnait sur l’accueil/pièce principale avec une très mauvais isolation sonore. Nous entendions donc tout. Impossible de faire une grasse matinée. Cet hôtel manque un peu de chaleur et coin cosy pour dîner. Je trouve qu’il n’est pas à la hauteur du prix demandé (si on se réfère à l’offre locale bien sûr).

Old world charm with wonderful hospitality 🙏
Pros:

Upon arrival, we were absolutely in awe of the stunning gardens and old world British colonial hotel. We felt like we had stepped back in time. Our room was delightful with a 4 posted large very comfortable bed and doors opening out onto the garden. Our breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit and a cooked breakfast or traditional Sri Lankan breakfast.
What we treasured the most however was how caring and thoughtful the staff were. We would like to make special mention of Dananjaya who looked after our every need, getting ice and slicing up limes for our Gin & Tonics and even setting up an outside table for breakfast on our last morning. I would go as far to say this has been one of the best places we have stayed in Sri Lanka.

Pros:

The suite was beautiful. A wonderful house and a wonderful garden, very calm and exquisite staff. Excellent breakfast. Only a few minutes drive from the main temple. I highly recommend.

Cons:

The pictures are the same for almost all rooms, whereas in reality they are very different (size, space, amenities), I had the suite with the armchairs which is huge and beautiful ! But there is only 1 such room at the hotel. Thanks.

Beautiful property with fantastic views in a quiet location but close to lake.

Cons:

Shower was not always working, either too cold or no water but they did fix it. Air conditioning unit dripping all night long.

È un posto magico dove vovere un’esperienza unica
Pros:

Luogo di incredibile bellezza e buon gusto. C’è un immenso giardino tropicale, la villa è elegantissima e piena di cose belle. Ci hanno fatto l’upgrade e la stanza era molto lussuosa.

Questa struttura è un sogno! Intrisa di fascino, ti offre un servizio di alto livello grazie all'accoglienza di Dananjaya, Chamidu & Dilsha. È una villa antica, conservata benissimo, arredata con mobili d'epoca e ti regala una bellissima vista su Kandy ed il suo lago. Consigliatissima!

Best place to stay in Kandy. By far!
Pros:

Everything : the location, exceptionnal view of Kandy, the amazing garden, the beautiful house and decoration, the quality of service. Lovely place!

Cons:

Only one minor thing : the spa type music in the living room... it does not make any sense in this beautifully renovated colonial bungalow. We asked the staff to switch it off, which they did, and eveything went back to perfection!

An amazing experience
Pros:

It is an experience to behold and live in. You would feel like you are living like royalties in here. The staff is amazing and wonderful always helpful and cheerful.
The room is amazing with beautiful view. The entire property feels like a piece of heaven. Looking forward to stay here again at the nearest time

Nice location. could have been a better experience with proper staff management and training
Pros:

Beautiful garden with stunning view over the temple of the tooth. Lovely common interiors with large communal dining table, sadly unused.

Cons:

Average breakfast, slow service, everyone squeezed into a small space on the lawn.
Pool beds have no cushions, a strange oversite for supposedly a 5* bungalow.
As in much of Sri Lanka, staff are very willing but untrained and this manifests itself in lack of attention to maintenance and to not understanding or anticipating the needs of guests.

Pros:

It must have the nicest position in Kandy, overlooking the lake and temple. Incredibly peaceful and above our expectations. They didn’t mention that there is now a pool, overlooking the city. An unexpected bonus. Renovated shower rooms in all rooms.

Cons:

The website needs improving with better photos (to do the place justice) and a contact number that works, and an email that is monitored.
Some parts of the bungalow are looking a little tired, just needing minor fixes and a lick of paint.

Old world charm, beautiful location and great staff
Pros:

Staff were great, I wish I could remember the young man’s name. Room was beautiful and had all the charm of a bygone era. One of the best locations for a fantastic breakfast on the patio. Didn’t use the pool but the view was excellent. Not far to walk into town but far enough away…definitely a tuk tuk ride back though, the hill is steep!
