The location is excellent. It is by its own beach and it is a short walk to Waikiki Beach and downtown Waikiki shopping. Great view from the room with a couple large panoramic windows.
Very busy, only parking was $55 a day valet. Three star room at five star prices. No microwave or coffee maker in room and no courtesy coffee in lobby. Very expensive (and below average food) restaurant off lobby only place to get coffee. Hotel lets you borrow a towel, but no fins/snorkels or other gear and it is half a mile walk down beach to rent them (for exorbitant prices). Bathroom was a standard 3-star with a tub shower and sink.
Location
No elevator for garden view floors. I may have missed it in the description though.
Nice rooms, great beach, good restaurant
Parking is on street
Drinks and food were delicious and our server Ella was exceptional
I stayed here for 3 days in May, solo trip and I am a state resident. Room is nice, bed comfy, nice linens, etc. My biggest complaint is NO bikes and VERY limited availability of paddle boards as advertised on hotel website. Also, NO coffee in the rooms? I have never stayed in a US hotel that didn't have coffee for guests! Its really kind of a zing when you are paying $45 nite resort fee...I love the area, close to Waikiki but more quiet, I had really looked forward to riding bike around Kapiolani Park.
location, atmosphere, service, food, everything was amazing and i would 100% come here again. Nani was a great waitress and completely made the meal even better.
Nani was such a delight! She was engaging and made us feel so welcome. I don't think we would have as good an experience with another server. I will be back soon!
Love this restaurant and always make a point of visiting when I’m in town
The view is out of this world and the food is delicious
We have had a server named Ella a few times and she is lovely and always takes great care of us
Wonderful beach side setting on Waikiki Beach. The food was very good and Nani was a fantastic waitress!
The location, the beach, the ambiance, the view - All just perfect.
The room we were allocated was not the room we booked. I had to go back downstairs and they did allocate us another room but it should be have done initially, not wait for us to complain that the room wasn't as requested.
Great brunch at Hau Tree! Special shout-out to our server, Nani - she was absolutely fantastic. Attentive, warm and friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Great food and cocktails, warm service, great views and vibes - excellent way to kick off our vacation! Thanks again, Nani!
Nani gave us the best service I have ever experienced at a restaurant we love her!!! Thank you Nani!
Hau Tree Lanai. We’ve been going for years… best service and food with an amazing atmosphere with beach views! We had served Nani on our last visit and she is the best! Stop by if in Waikiki!
Rob was so great and took such good care of us! Gave us recs for places to go in the area and was so friendly!!
Had a great time there w my friends, Ella was so nice to us, so attentive and good vibes! Will visit again for sure.
Had an amazing night at Hau tree. Ella was my server and provided the best experience. She was able to give great recommendations on the food and drink menu and was so professional.
Food came out in decent time and the view was amazing. Definitely recommend eating at Hau Tree.
Ask for Ella as your server!
I booked this hotel because of so many 5 star reviews and comments on how amazing the staff is. They were correct with the staff but if I was rating the hotel itself I would never ever return. The beach was closed during my 2 night stay which was not to the fault of the hotel. (Mother seal had a baby). However, there isn’t a pool at this hotel, never in my wildest dreams would I have had to consider filtering “pool” for a Hawaiian hotel search but definitely learned my lesson! So my 2 day quiet and tranquil trip turned into lugging a small foldable chair down the beach, further than anticipated due to the only restaurant on the premise not serving food during my arrival, looking for a beach spot and something to eat after a 14hr flight.
The 2nd day I used ResortPass to book and pay a day pass at another hotel to enjoy the amenities Kaimana lacked. The rooms at Kaimana are old and humid and my bed at room 629 was so worn down on the one side with a view that you could cocoon yourself in its own divot.
The restaurant was nice and I had a window seat to view the moma seal and baby and the menu had gluten free options. (Rob was a friendly efficient waiter). If you like garlic this restaurant is for you. My chicken was so potent from garlic it was hard to finish.
This resort, like all, charges a resort fee and this is the first time that I am very disappointed and dissatisfied to have to pay.
I am grateful my stay was only 2 nights or I definitely would have had to change to a better hotel.
Nani was very attentive, I appreciated her checking in often and she brought great energy to the table making the experience a lot better
