Awesome facility. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended!
Hotel was beautiful, staff were kind and helpful. Would definitely come back. Conveniently located in Savannah but not in the hustle and bustle.
Location, price, comfortable rooms all good but minor annoyances added up. The floor and bathrooms were not properly cleaned.
In this day when every electronic device from phone to computer to toothbrush needs to be charged, the number of charger sites were few had not been maintained. Two didn’t work.
There were no phone charger sites on the bedside table which meant being unable to check a charging phone or laptop in the comfort of bed.
The poor sound quality of the house phone made it unusable to communicate with the desk. A small in room refrigerator would have been nice.
And finally $53/day added for parking and not mentioned in the pre-admission add is questionable.
In short the hotel seems to be going down hill
Room was nice but had to get toilet fixed and batteries for remote control. These should be checked before checking someone in. The breakfast was tasty at onsite restaurant and the view from the balcony was great
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great Tiki bartender. Don’t be fooled this hotel is totally walkable to all great restaurants, bars, shops and squares. Morning coffee was excellent at the lobby coffee shop and very reasonably priced. The upscale vibe with down to earth comfort. Rooms are clean and spacious. Recommend requesting a room with a balcony. All views are exceptional.
Great location. Easy to walk everywhere from hotel.
Room was nice and clean. Valet was friendly. Front desk associates were far from pleasant and it felt like I was an inconvenience. They offer text messaging for room service or any other questions. Often not responsive or sending confusing messages. Expect a 12-15 minute walk to River Street.
This hotel is underwhelming to say the least. The best part was the coffee cafe in the lobby the rest left a lot to be desired especially in the rooms themselves. This place needs a renovation and a complete overhaul of the housekeeping compliance staff. I literally felt dirty and unclean in this place and felt trapped and disappointed I could not afford to book another hotel that I would have enjoyed and made my experience in Savannah worth the trip. Until they do the work needed to bring this place to the luxury state it is clearly capable of being STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! The second best part of this hotel was the valet staff. Just do better overall. I will never book here again.
The DeSoto has been an amazing place to stay. Everyone has been extremely welcoming, kind, and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. A special shoutout to the valets in the front for offering us a directions and a helping hand throughout our stay.
Clean rooms but there was no mini fridge in the room. City view was beautiful. Valet staff was exceptional.
This is a very chic hotel. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful.
I liked the location, everything was walkable, plenty of places to eat and not a noisy location. The hotel lobby was clean with many places to sit and eat. Great little bar area.
My room was clean and had everything I needed. I had an issue with the iron in my room, but was able to secure a good working one. I only ate at the restaurant on the premises once for breakfast. The food was tasty and came out hot. I paid to check-in early and was grateful and thankful to be able to check-in earlier than expected. Overall, great experience. I would definitely recommend and stay again.
I had a great experience with the morning valet crew. They were friendly, professional, and worked efficiently to get my car quickly without any delays. Everyone greeted me with a positive attitude and handled my vehicle with care. Their excellent customer service really made a great start to my day. I appreciate their hard work and would definitely recommend their valet service to others. Thank you for the outstanding job!
Reese and Gio were great valets!! Reese gave us some great recommendations for restaurants. They both were super friendly and helpful with our luggage.
The city is beautiful, we enjoyed a day at the beach on Tybee Island on my birthday and it was amazing. We went on a trolley tour that was so fun!
We also enjoyed amazing seafood....we are already planning our next trip back to Savannah.
This is the filthiest, most run down property that I have ever stayed at. Don't let the lobby fool you - that's the only part that is decent. The carpeting in all of the hallways are Filthy. Black mold can be found in numerous places in rooms. Tub faucets are literally detached from the tub. Strong sewer/gas smell. Gross elevators that sound like they may not last much longer. The cheap flooring is literally peeled away in many places. Wallpaper is peeling off of the walls. The air vents are packed with dirt & dust. In one room the closet doors wouldn't close because the hangers wouldn't fit. No Staff members can be found in the lobby & bar in the early evening & numerous times during the day. We were heading out to dinner right around 8pm & we ran into people in the lobby asking us if the place was open. The cleaning staff should Not be blamed - it's 100% lack of any Management. Never Stay Here - we certainly won't. Disgusting place.
The hotel and staff were nice, especially Reese the valet, who was super helpful, personable, and took hospitality to a higher level.
The hospitality was amazing. The floor in our room had obvious water damage and the room smelled musty but with the humidity in Savannah its hard to fix that. I would have preferred to have a small refrigerator in our room to at least keep drinks cold. Otherwise, our stay was great.
We had several issues with our room and interactions with the staff. Although the location was ideal for attending the conference and proximity to area attractions, these positive attributes were overshadowed by an obvious lack of managerial oversight throughout the hotel. We appreciated a reduction in our bill, but feel it was a short term solution to a larger issue within the hotel infrastructure.
I stayed Friday through Monday. On Saturday after a long day of walking, we came back to the hotel around 5pm and the room was not cleaned. I went to the front desk and asked whether daily room service was included. The attendant said yes and sent a crew to clean the room. On Sunday the same thing happened. This time I spoke with the evening manager and she apologized and gave me a partial credit for the inconvenience. Otherwise, this hotel is in a good location and a short walk or bus ride (free) to the riverfront. The room and common areas were clean and well attended. A number of restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. City Garage parking is also a 5 minute walk from the hotel if you don’t want to use their valet service. I don’t particularly like their pricing menu as everything requires an upgrade including Wi-Fi, a refrigerator and even a balcony (which has no furniture). I was obviously willing to accept the pricing since I booked the room but I was very disappointed to have had to request room service two days in a row, especially for a hotel that tries to market itself as a boutique experience.
Great location walked to all area events
Our stay at The DeSoto in Savannah was everything we hoped it would be and more.
From the moment we arrived on Saturday afternoon, we were graciously welcomed by both the valet team and the front desk staff. Walking into the hotel, we were immediately struck by the beautiful, elegant lobby with its soaring ceilings and classic Southern charm.
Our room on the 13th floor was perfect—clean, comfortable, and inviting. The balcony overlooking the city and the Savannah River Bridge provided a wonderful view, especially in the mornings while enjoying a cup of coffee. Speaking of coffee, the little café in the hotel became part of our daily routine, and every cup was delicious.
After spending our first evening exploring beautiful Savannah, we returned to the hotel and were once again warmly welcomed. We stopped by the bar for what was supposed to be just one drink. The atmosphere was lively and fun, with guests celebrating two separate wedding parties. What made the evening especially memorable was meeting a lovely couple who were in town setting up a wedding venue. My husband and I were celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary, and before we knew it, we were sharing stories, laughter, and a few secrets to a happy marriage.
A special thank you to the bartender, who was engaging, personable, and helped create such an enjoyable atmosphere.
The DeSoto provided much more than a beautiful room—it gave us wonderful memories. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah.
