The staff was friendly, but many appeared very young and not well-trained in customer service. I booked through Amex and was initially going to be charged twice, though I was able to get it resolved before leaving.
We have stayed at this hotel every year, and unfortunately this visit felt like a step down in overall service. The restaurant, which used to offer very good food and attentive service, has noticeably declined. It was difficult to find waitstaff, and there seemed to be issues with employees not showing up. At one point, the omelette station attendant had to leave to cook elsewhere after already setting up.
Overall, it felt like many employees were new and lacked support from management. This was surprising and disappointing given our past positive experiences.
Wonderful hotel with outstanding staff. Upon arrival, we were greeted at the desk by Santiago who handled check in quickly and efficiently while engaging us about our trip and recommending restaurants and things to see. The location of the hotel is perfect - right next to all of the shops, boutiques and restaurants. The amenities are great - spacious guest room, comfortable places to sit and check email and a huge pool with lots of seating around it.
Beds very comfortable, good cleaning staff
No valet help when we arrived and left. One of us had a lot of oxygen equipment to haul in and out. Very disappointed about this. Coffee available at limited morning hours and twice no cream. I was told by desk clerk to walk down to Ortiz and ask restaurant to give me a bottle of 1/2 and 1/2 and fill it myself. Appeared short on staff. Elevator out of order our entire stay, caused us to walk much further multiple times a day, one of us was on oxygen and it made things harder for her.
La habitación es amplia y las camas muy cómodas.
La ubicación del hotel es excelente.
La atención del personal fue genial.
Que no había tapetes antiderrapantes en el baño y nos resbalamos en la regadera.
This is the place to wander around with all the stores and go off the beaten path and come back. Lots of places to eat, although none are inexpensive. La Fonda Hotel is there and their bakery. Souvenir shops aplenty. Many benches there in the park area to sit and take it all in. Great place for a solo traveler to hang out, walk, and not be bothered. Live entertainment as well. Good place to touch base. Hotels, museums..all there.
Hotel was beautiful inside and out and extremely well appointed. Room was large and very comfortable. The location near the plaza was perfect.
The staff were clearly having major issues. Bless the desk manager who was working hard to keep it together, but the cleaning staff was behind, restaurant staff were slow and under prepared and things hadn't been prepared for our large group resulting in a long wait. Wait didn't feel like a Hilton...it felt a little like a train wreck. I hope they can address the issues.
Very nice room, great location to things to do downtown.
Omg as a Hilton honours member expected better standards. Small dark room allocated no porterage in the morning even tho paid for. Breakfasts okay however cannot cope with a number of guests turning up at same time first day breakfast at 7 didn’t not open until 5’past 7.Personally I’d give this one a miss.
Proximity to Old Town was great!
Staff throughout the hotel are all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet offers a lot of choices and attentive servers.
The location of the hotel is within walking distance of the historic Plaza.
Old frayed towels, a bedspread which had lumpy bunched up detached batting in it......not a good look for a Hilton. Swimming pool looked dirty or maybe it just needs a refinish on the bottom as it looked splotchy black or???
The Ortiz restaurant within the hotel was understaffed and my meal was disappointing in that the cheese was rubbery and the tortilla tasted stale. The filling which was supposed to be shredded chicken was cut up dark meat cubes.
Be aware that you will be charged 31.00 a day for parking on the hotel's property
This hotel is old and feels old. Elevator was scary. No executive lounge. Breakfast very average. Room was ok, but AC controls were not working well. Walk to the old town was short.
I am giving this hotel 2 stars purely for the location and for the front desk clerk who checked us in. He was very professional and helpful, and he was the only one there to do all the work of checking people in, answering the phone, delivering things to people's rooms, etc. He's a hard worker.
Otherwise, this hotel was a total bust. The AC in our room didn't work. It made a lot of noise, but it didn't cool the room at all. They did send someone to fix it, but he was there for about a minute and said it's a historic building and that's the best they can do. If that's the case, fine, but then don't advertise air-conditioned rooms.
Came back to our room after a show, pulled back the duvet cover, and found a stain that looked suspiciously like fecal matter. They did offer to change the sheets, but the fact that it was left there like that makes me wonder what else isn't being cleaned or paid attention to.
The hallways are so dim that you can barely see the room numbers, and our floor had a big hole in the ceiling with a ceiling panel lying in the middle of the floor when we checked in.
Overall, there aren't enough staff members, there's very little care taken for basic things, and the floors with rooms are so dim they look like dungeons. Hilton also has a lot of nerve charging $31 for self-parking in a lot that anyone can access (it would be somewhat different if they had a garage with protected parking) considering what they charge for this hotel.
I stayed here 12 years ago and the place looks exactly the same. Very worn and dated carpet and furniture. Hotel is in need of a major update.
After traveling for 8 hours we tried to check in to this hotel the night of May 6th and their system to create room keys was somehow "broken" and they could not create room keys - and digital key requests were not working either. After 1.5 hours waiting for the issue to be fixed at 10pm (even their master keys would not open the room) they finally gave us access to our room with a new key. No manager on site, no one answering the phone, only one untrained person at the front desk. A search of reviews shows this hotel had the same issue last year. I am a lifetime Hilton member and stayed in their hotels all over the world, this was a shockingly bad experience that reflects a hotel in rapid decline - being poorly managed, outdated IT systems, untrained and insufficient staff - very sad. Travelers beware.
The hotel is run down and I couldn’t wait to leave. I was riding in a poorly maintained elevator and it broke down, trapping me for some time. Front desk was indifferent and lectured me that I needed to understand it wasn’t their fault - I was trapped at a time of day when they had fewer staff on call. Other maintenance issues include the pool furniture. We went to sit by the pool and most of the chairs were filthy and had tears in the fabric. The food in the restaurant is pretty bad too, especially sad given that Santa Fe is a food driven town. This is a beautiful historic building and it is shameful that Hilton doesn’t care to maintain it in a manner that it deserves.
Niente di particolare
Sia il riscaldamento che la cassaforte non funzionavano e nonostante le mie richieste di intervento presentate alla reception non sono mai stati riparati
First time staying there..staff was really friendly.
Nice environment
