Location
Bedding was comfortable
Shower was great!
Breakfast and hosts
Property needed updating. Didn’t meet expectations of a Hilton
Blackout wasn’t a blackout!
Of 3…1 Elevator broken 1 Elevator in and out of service 3rd too far away
In room…$12 for bottled H2O!?
No bellman to assist with anything!?
Lighting in room too dim…felt dingy
Better quality of towels
Going to front reception for ice and if available?? Complementary small water bottles (timing was everything)
WiFi was not accessible from my room. I had to make a video call while I was there and asked at the reception desk if there was any private space in the hotel I could use for 1/2 hour just to make the call because I couldn’t use it from my room. I Had to haggle for it. While I was waiting though someone else at the reception desk was complaining about WIfi not being accessible. We then realized the whole place was on the WiFi fritz. So I went to my room and used my phone hot spot. It was a jumpy connection but better than nothing. The staff for the most part is very friendly and accommodating. The facility overall though is looking very tired and worn. It needs a makeover.
Air conditioning was poor. Asked for maintenance repeatedly. Finally changed rooms the next day and that room was very good.
Did not know parking was an additional $31/day.
Also, I thought I signed up for breakfast at $20/day/person. After we ate breakfast they said breakfast was not included and charged me approx. $60.
Location
We paid 330 USD per night - we stayed at Hilton, not at Super 8 for 60 USD a night. We are used to totally different Hilton standards around the world. The carpet in the hall was dirty, windows in the room were dirty, the swimming pool dirty... Just 2 towels in the room, absolutely unsufficient info at check in, almost no choices at breakfast. The hotel must be poorly managed because all of these things are pretty easy and cheap to fix. We actually could not believe we stayed at Hilton....:)
Hugely disappointing! We’ve stayed here multiple times before but there has been significant deterioration in this property all round—rude and less than professional or accommodating front desk (actually either not trained or outwardly hostile), poor communications, absence of management, definite degradation of maintenance (the previously wonderful pool area is a disgrace.)
Okay, here goes…this hotel gets a 4 due to the location—could hardly be better for walkable Santa Fe—and for the room itself—comfy furnishings, great bathroom, a robe, which always garners some love from me, and easy in and out. Dragging this review down—it really should get a 3.5–is the upkeep of the property. It’s a historic site so there are some things that can’t be helped like odd locations of things such as the bar however, it would not take much loving—or money—to fix some pretty rough things. Shabby furniture with mismatched cushions out front, ugly stairwells, walls and doors with dings and a pool area I barely wanted to be in—I lived in crappy apartments in college with nicer pools. The $31/night parking is ridiculous for an open lot. Why ding us so much for parking? I’m hoping Hilton will spruce this place up because it could b great.
A good stay is in the details. Well stocked room, soap in dispensers cups for the coffee. A bar with bar tenders behind the bar and carpet in the common areas that is clean and fresh. Trash cans that are not over flowing and s pleasant supervisory staff.
In the heart of downtown which made it close to shops and restaurants. ☺️
when we went the pool was closed 🫠
Oh my! What can I say. I arrived with a group, and all of our keys did not work. One of the guys on the desk made what he though was a joke, but it did not go over well as it was tasteless, and we had had a long day and just wanted our keys. Apon arriving in my room I noticed it was very dated and the AC was not working. I was finally moved to another room which was not better. Afterward I found out all of our group's rooms did not have much AC. We were told they we coming to fix it which it was not. I had to spend much time at the front desk with problems. I overheard some pretty upset guests. I was not the only one not getting much satisfaction from the not so hospitable desk staff. I would not stay at the hotel again. Very frustrating.
First impression driving up is that the front needs some updating. Since the front of the hotel is the thing guests see, I honestly, think they need to put some time and work into sprucing it up a bit. However, front desk staff were very nice and friendly, gave us a good restaurant tip. The room is nice enough but I don't feel like I'm in a Hilton it lacks some of the poshness you expect. But its an older hotel. Its close to a lot of restaurants, in a good location. Had trouble with adjusting the air temperature in the room last night and the front desk manager came to our room and showed us where to set it and what button to push. I know seems easy but it was a little confusing. The hotel and room is clean that's the biggest thing for me in a hotel that it feels clean. I would stay here again.
Tres bon hotal, emplacement parfait pour le centre ville
Excellent customer service. Good location.
Service/ Hospitality
Placed in a room with a broken AC. When I notified the front desk, they said, yes they are working on those rooms. We can move you. Why put people in a room that has a broken AC?
If you want to enjoy an outdoor swimming pool, this is NOT the location. Pool is murky, dirt / stains on floor of pool and lots of broken furniture. Quite dumpy.
This is a sad property. Upon check-in we discovered that there was no air conditioning in our room. We were told they were working on it. The hallways are dark and dingy. A broken elevator. At least there is more than one. Honestly, the pool view out our window showed a green pool. I could make some algae jokes here, but … They were unable to fix AC when we returned from dinner. Not able to move to another room due to being sold out. Too late to checkout and find somewhere else. Anyway, they did offer 30% off rate. Honestly, having worked for Hilton many years ago, I can say the standards are not the same. Buyer beware. There are better options for around the same price point.
Poorly maintained, dirty hotel. Staff was not helpful at all. AC could not be controlled, Shower door would not close. in-room safe could not be locked. Bathroom lock was broken. Elevator out of service all 3 days of our stay there.
Location, restaurant, bar, especially staff
Pillows were flat
I'd say the other reviews are spot on. Great location to walking the plaza and downtown but there is a lack of attention to detail to the Hilton Honors guests. The historic building and rooms are beautiful. Check in and the little marketplace was average at best. Check out had a much better staff that was friendlier and more helpful.
Great location and friendly staff. Everyone was top notch hospitality personnel. This hotel stay is one of the best experiences I've had in a hotel.
There is nothing not to like.
