They made it right by changing our room but I will look elsewhere next time.
Pros:

In the re-assigned room, we could tell with the renovation, the mattresses were new and we actually slept very well. The new flooring also looks nice. We enjoyed the hot breakfast. Cereal was stale.

Cons:

The original room had a bad smell to it. We believe it stemmed from the old carpeting and it smelt like mold. We were willing to not complain and stay until we also noticed the dead bolt was not working properly. When I let management know, he suggested we just use the manual/swinging lock up top instead. As two women traveling, I just stared at him until he came up with the second proposal of changing rooms. The hotel looks like they slapped paint onto the walls, got new mattresses and called it good.

Property was nice staffing was terrible

Cons:

My hotel room was still being cleaned when I checked into my room. My room had to be swapped after 10 minutes of me being on the premises I was swapped to a room where the bathtub of the restroom in my hotel was disgusting and it was stained.
