Good location 😃
Love the location so central. Comfortable room and large comfy bed. Breakfast very good and staff at breakfast in particular very helpful. All staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome.
The hand soap dispenser was empty. We didn't raise it as we had toiletries with us and the shower dispensers were full.

For £165 per night I do not expect to walk through a construction site in reception or a lift under repair

I didn't sleep due to noise throughout the night from within the hotel, I asked Gabriel at reception where I could find Sainsbury's and he abruptly barked at me "That way" which i found disgusting for a front of house representative....I definitely will not be returning.
The room was clean and comfortable
It was very noisy in the evening. With my window facing the Main Street and only having secondary glazing that didn’t fit properly it was very noisy until well after midnight. With the renovations ongoing I didn’t feel I was getting good value for money nor particularly welcoming.
Staff especially mathew on reception could not do more for us he is very inviting and was a bundle off knowledge, a must have for front off house , thankyou mathew 👌 refurb did not effect our party in any way breakfast was warm and welcoming, so much choice !!! Nice staff as well, will be back soon thankyou for our stay at mercure x
Cant think off anything tbh wee got what i say was value for money
Staff were excellent, efficient and thoroughly pleasant at all times. Breakfast was very nice. Rooms are very clean.
Although we were aware that there are works happening at the hotel, we were disappointed with the alternative arrangements. The current reception area is reduced in size, giving it a hostel -like appearance, the arrangements for eating or having a drink could have been better prepared as an alternative to what would normally have been available. The room could have been set up in a far more appealing way given the circumstances. Whilst we understand renovations are necessary, a reduced price would have reflected the situation .

Durante la nostra visita l'hotel era in ristrutturazione, quindi la hall era molto ristretta e per la colazione ci hanno spostati in un'area diversa rispetto al previsto, ma nulla di problematico. L'unica pecca sono le camere, nulla a che vedere con quelle illustrate nelle foto. Immagino sia prevista la ristrutturazione anche di quelle, però avrei preferito vedere delle foto più affini alla realtà.
