Pros:

The swimming pool was lovely.

Cons:

Poor breakfast… Charged extra for pancakes & eggs.
No toilets at the swimming pool.
No bar after 7pm.
No food facilities after 7pm.
Not allowed to bring food/drinks from outside despite the fact the catering facilities poor.
In a peaceful location but constant noise from gardeners/workers daily while trying to relax at the pool.

Whilst a beautiful property, I don’t believe this deserves five stars. More like a four star resort.

Beautiful pool and gardens. Good location

Cons:

No hot breakfast provided (only at additional cost), no coffee machine or milk provided in room. Shower very weak and bed not comfortable.

Relaxing luxurious stay in the most beautiful surroundings.
Pros:

The hotel grounds were very beautiful and the pool very elegant and there was a really serene atmosphere as it was never crowded. Just lovely birdsong and low level music. The bar/lunch at the pool was great and reasonable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room comfortable and terrace view was perfect. Aircon very good.The breakfast was amazing. Everything home made and huge choice. There was a wonderful beach club we went to called Roccette Club. It was a short cab ride away and 35 Euros for 2 beds and umbrella. Not normally a beach person, especially when the pool was so nice but swimming in the clear turquoise water and view of the cliffs was stunning and well worth a visit. The hotel restaurant Romano in Tropea town was great but highly recommend Terrazza Degli Dei - a restaurant built in the cliffs and the terrace overlooks stunning sunsets - surprisingly really good value too considering it's the best view in Tropea.

Cons:

Didn't like not having a hotel bar available in the evening. so location would be downside. It's really quiet location which was a plus and if you are hiring a car - and don't drink - then its really only a 5 minute drive away. The hotel restaurant is in the town - 15 euro cab ride away - so 30 euros before you've opened a bottle of wine. The pool was cleaned most days and didn't open for swimming until 9-10am which was not great for early birds. Breakfast was 8-11am which is great when you want late breakfast but we got up early every day and wanted cappuccino at 7.30... That's being picky as we had the most amazing relaxing time at this lovely hotel.

Pros:

Nous avons séjourné 6 nuits dans cet hôtel. Nous avons apprécié le calme du lieu, la piscine et les extérieurs du petit déjeuner. Le parking sécurisé est un plus.

Cons:

Au delà du caractère spectaculaire de la réception, nous devons bien reconnaître que nous avons été déçus par la chambre et aussi par l’agencement de la salle de bains qui ne correspondent pas aux normes d’un 5 *. Le bâtiment principal , pourtant récent, ne dispose pas d’un ascenseur. Il nous a donc fallu monter les bagages à l’étage par un escalier étroit d’une vingtaine de marches. Enfin, la facturation d’un supplément de 6 à 8 euros pour des œufs sur le plat ou une omelette , en dehors du forfait petit déjeuner , nous est apparue abusive dans un hôtel 5*…

Our stay at Il Borghetto Resort & Spa was absolutely wonderful. The facilities were excellent, the breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice, and the staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help.

The grounds are beautifully maintained and kept in immaculate condition, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. The location is perfect—far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Tropea to enjoy peace and tranquillity, yet close enough to easily explore the town, its restaurants, and everything the area has to offer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Il Borghetto Resort & Spa to anyone visiting the Tropea region.

Absolutely amazing stay with friendly staff and luxury pool
Pros:

The property was immaculate, the rooms were fabulous, the pool and loungers were extremely luxurious, the staff and breakfast were top notch.

Cons:

I will say if you don’t have access to a vehicle when staying here, getting to the town center will be expensive so keep that in mind when booking this hotel. This hotel is worth every penny even though it is about a 5 minute drive outside of tropea
