The location was good, and the hotel its self is very nice.
The beds were vert uncomfortable, and the room smelt like urine. The fridge did not work, and then when we sent for another fridge as we had perishables including milk for our baby, they brought one up that smelled terrible, and never got cold. We were on a lower floor right at the corner of the busiest intersection so the entire night we heard cars, and sirens, and did not get a good sleep.
The location is amazing.
I specifically paid a premium for a room with a beautiful view of the lake, yet I was placed in a corner room with a very limited view. The experience felt underwhelming, especially when compared to the consistently exceptional hospitality I've received at the Trump Tower, the Peninsula, the Four Seasons, and the Waldorf Astoria.
Luxury hospitality is about more than the room itself, it's about anticipating guest expectations and delivering an experience that reflects the premium price paid. I believe there is significant room for improvement in that regard, and I hope this feedback is taken as an opportunity to elevate the guest experience.
The location couldn’t have been more centralized to everything we were looking to do while we are here. Between the magnificent mile, Gold Coast, beach is quite literally across the road, wicker park and Humboldt Park are a quick jump over.
The hotel was super clean, the staff was even friendlier, we’ve been to town several times and this hotel has been our favorite.
It was clean and kind of opulent.
The accommodations in the room were faux nice. Kind of cheap bed, etc.
I have been coming to the Drake literally for 75 years, and while at one point it had gotten old and a bit seedy above the first floor, it’s affiliation with Hilton has caused things to be much improved. The room was clean and comfortable, and the service, both in-room and throughout the hotel reminded me of the good old days of traveler respect. Thanks for a great stay.
Amazing staff, attentive and responsive, friendly and accessible. The building is historic which means a mixture of beautiful features and some accessibility challenges. Rooms can be variable in layout and views, make sure to ask for what you want. Great conference spaces, delicious food.
The huge plus is the staff I interacted with. The maintenance man Jordan and the front desk manager Maritza and Emily are next level hospitality folks. The room amenities like the hotel itself are dated e.g. lack of usb ports, old bath/shower combo with no handheld shower, no refrigerator etc. The location and lake front view is wonderful. The price point of sub $400 a night in downtown Chicago with a lake view is a plus.
歴史と格式あるホテルでした。
部屋から湖が一望出来るし街に近くロケーションは最高!
ベットサイドの片方にコンセントと充電器がありましたが両方にあると良かった。
My wife and had our first ever trip to chicago in May for my wife's birthday. Two very exciting things right off the bat, but we were very much looking forward to our stay at The Drake. We were lucky enough to get a very early check-in and the manager on duty Emily Goodman, made sure there was a a lovely birthday gift waiting in the room for my wife. From there, every interaction was as fun as it was professional, and acceuntuated with smiles and laughter. Emily clearly understood the job and the entirety of the staff, Sofia, Anthony, Taylor, Catalina, & Tate couldn't have done a better job. We look forward returning and hope see many of these friendly faces.
We booked a room and when we arrived, they upgraded us to a room with a view of the lake. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They kept our luggage for us after we checked out so that we did not need to carry them around the city on our last day there.
It was all great!
The people at the hotel were very nice and sweet
I loved everything
The Drake has been restored to it's original glory and elegance. I appreciate staying there.
Great location and view of Lake Michigan. Beautiful hotel. Clean and great service. Check in was swift and smooth. Will be back!
Classy and elegant even for people who weren’t, good location and extremely accommodating and helpful staff.
The bathroom setup is a bit odd with the way the shower / tub combo.
