Where do I start. DO NOT STAY HERE! This is the second time I've tried staying at this hotel. The first visit, the water in our room didn't work and the toilet was not flushed (and would not flush) when I arrived so they gave me a different room.
This time was the last straw. Here are all of the issues I encountered. BEWARE and I would ask questions BEFORE you arrive if you are brave enough to still give them a chance
- I arrived around 10pm, exhausted from moving a parent all day.
- The first thing I noticed was the lobby seemed warm. Check in was slow and I was informed that the breakfast was from 6 until 10 but you had to pay for it, no continental breakfast was available.
- When I got to the room it was nearly 80 degrees. I turned on the AC and nothing happened. I then contacted the front desk. It took several messages to get them to admit that the AC in the building was not working and had not been for some time!!
- They apologized half-heartedly and said they could offer me a refund if I left immediately. It was now 11pm mind you. I asked if they could help me find a different room downtown and they said no. As it was so late I then asked if I could leave in the morning and get a refund and they said no, only if I left immediately.
- THEN I was informed that they were shutting the water off daily all week from 10am until 4pm! They wouldn't say why so God only knows what other issues the building is having.
- I asked why they wouldn't either have this information on their website or inform people upon arrival BEFORE completing check in so they'd have an option to leave immediately but they didn't have an answer.
I finally had to call Hilton support and was able to get some credit but this was an absolutely horrible experience at a hotel that is so incredibly low quality (dirty, no AC, no water 25% of the time, no complimentary breakfast) that Hilton really needs to consider ending their contract with them. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a "Hilton" property. I've stayed at Super 8 hotels on trips due to no other option and had a much cleaner room with working water and AC.
Again, AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS, you'll be glad you did.
Locatie
There was no A/C. The shower had just a trickle coming out of the nozzle. The toilet hardly flushed. I continuously went to the front desk to complain. They gave me a fan for the room.
A/C working and the showers having more than a trickle coming out would have greatly helped.
Front desk person was not dressed properly and seemed disinterested. Facilities seemed run down, revolving entry door broken, elevator floors dirty, air conditioning broke my second night there, no maintenance staff available and staff never provided box fans that they said they would, breakfast was marginal and not worth the price
My stay started on a disappointing note. After a full day of travel, I arrived at the hotel and was met by a front desk employee who seemed unfriendly and acted as though I was inconveniencing her. The interaction became noticeably more pleasant once it was clear that I would be staying for 10 nights. I do appreciate being allowed to check in a little early.
When I entered my room, a maintenance worker was inside changing air filters, which was unexpected. The next morning, I discovered there was no hot water. I endured cold showers for two days before the hot water issue was finally resolved.
Unfortunately, the problems continued. On my last night, the air conditioning appeared to fail, and fans had been placed in the hallway for guests to use. The room became uncomfortable, and I woke up several times during the night feeling hot and sweaty.
To make matters worse, on the morning of checkout, I turned on the water hoping to take a shower before leaving and found that there was no water at all. The shower, sink, and toilet were all without service.
While I appreciate the early check-in, the combination of poor customer service, maintenance issues, lack of hot water, apparent air conditioning problems, and complete loss of water on checkout day made for a very disappointing stay.
Room shouldn’t have been occupied with unfinished bathroom renovation ie no shower curtain or rod, no bath towel racks , weak faucet pressure, minimal flat surfaces for toilet items. Took 3 days to resolve one problem
Lack of action on problems above.
How closer was from the convention center
No air conditioner in the room, and since they also left the windows open there alot of bugs inside the room, the first day was super bad not enough sleep , they moved us on Saturday but they only give us 19 dollars credit wish doesn't even help at all
Got to the hotel and they canceled my reservation for this weekend without even sending me an email or calling. When I said I didn’t know where to go they laughed at me. Horrible service I don’t even know how they run a business. It still shows my reservation on the account. Don’t stay here
The location was perfect fit what I was doing.
The person that checked us in was very rude. Considering I paid for the room in advance I was concerned about the 200 deposit they were charging me. So I was asking questions and the guy was very rude in his explanation of why I was getting charged. Didn't explain very well about refund of this deposit so I was panicking thinking I was getting double charged. While I saw they were under construction our room had a peeling wall and a flood on the bathroom floor something needs to be done about the shower doors. They should swing to the inside only cause leaving the door open leaves a flood on the floor after shower or put a drain by the outside shower to collect all the water. That's going to be a major mold issue if it isn't already.
Location
Not a coming receptionist, no free breakfast and Slow service at breakfast. Construction in the lobby area.
Bathroom sink cracked
Great location and large rooms
It was under construction which they didn’t warn about until check in. They offered to cancel for free but at pride weekend, there are no hotels left. The water didn’t really work in the shower and wasn’t hot.
Terrible experience. This hotel is undergoing a major renovation and is in total disarray. My room did not have a door knob on the bathroom door, just a hole, so the door could not be shut. The carpet was wet. The bathtub had sand (or something) in it. The room was not cleaned once during my stay. One day they turned off the water from 9 am to 4 pm. I am very surprised this hotel can call itself a Doubletree or a Hilton. It does not seem to meet basic standards.
The front desk staff were friendly. The room was set up nice and appeared to be clean.
We weren't aware of the construction of the hotel and the parking situation was very confusing.
Parking would have been convenient but the handi-cap parking was full of bath tubs. We had to ask to have them moved to park
I had reservations for 2 rooms. One had no air conditioning and no water, one had cold water and air conditioning that didnt go above low speed. They had no other rooms to swap for us. We wound up in one room. Early in the morning we found bugs in the bathroom that resembled cockroaches and we went to the desk to report this; the young lady at the desk said "and?" To our concerns. So we packed up and left.
The bed was very comfortable and we slept well.
While we were there, they had construction going on and there was no water Monday night and Tuesday morning. When we checked in, we were told that there was no air conditioning but when we got to our room it was working. The only thing we got was a voucher for breakfast for Tuesday and we didn't use it for Wednesday because no water.
Hilton/Doubletree rented this entire hotel out knowing the water will be shut off for the next two days from 9am-4pm. And the establishment next door has outdoor screen with soccer game on and volume wide open after 9pm. Not only can guests not use the restroom or wash their hands for the next two days, they can’t sleep either!
Reservation booked for two weeks and no advance warning.
Was excited to come here but holy moly this hotel is a nightmare. When we got here the sheet were not change, there was trash from the previous person that was staying here. The worst part the light to the door entrance is completely out. Would not recommend to anyone
